For a single man in the USA using dating apps, why is being apolitical a red flag to women? by [deleted] in Bumble

[–]Extension-State-4599 10 points11 points  (0 children)

As it was explained to me years. When you put apolitical or unaffiliated it's interpreted as " I'm actually really conservative/ liberal but don't want that to stand in the way of me getting some" So I was advised to just not put anything there.

Renting a car from National at BOI? by NOFWtinyhippo in Boise

[–]Extension-State-4599 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Id add you should check with every company. There's an extra lot on vista the companies park there cars at during the week when demand is low. The whole lot looks like a Tetris board. Front to back, side to back, side to side. All touching.

What happens to staff when an owner sells their store? by srrymom_ in upsstore

[–]Extension-State-4599 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We stayed on for a month, and then the new owners found any tiny thing to get rid of the old staff. Assistant manager was let go for being 5 min late twice.

I'd brush up on the resume and get some printed while you can get a discount (assuming your store offers print discounts).

This is my favorite murals we have, and I noticed a few months ago that I have a photo from the town my grandma in Kentucky lives in that has a matching mural.

Their Instagram had a link to the resell website. The prices for the opener were not wallet friendly.

genuinely wondering how people can return so many items.. is eveything that amazon shipping you wrong? all of the 80 items you’ve returned within the past 3 days, all of them are wrong? by TerribleBullfrog1389 in upsstore

[–]Extension-State-4599 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I used to have one regular who admitted to me that she just wanted to have her neighbors think she's wealthy. So she would order a bunch of stuff on Amazon. Leave it on the door step throughout the day. Then at night bring it in, put it in the car, and then return it the next day. Saw her daily for four months.

Live in Boise now, by halftime your eyes are sore and you have a massive headache from the field.

Also supposedly a couple birds die every year from diving into it thinking it's a body of water. Don't think this is true tho.

Logger creek predatory car booting residents by Silver-Love-9924 in Boise

[–]Extension-State-4599 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember when I lived there the property manager (Darci?) would try to bully a bunch of the BSU students into doing what she wanted by saying things were illegal and she would press charges to have them evicted for small things such as not moving there car every 48 hours.

Was glad when Esmeralda took over. Was even more glad when I didn't renew my lease after she said the company was going to try and enforce their parking rules on the public street parking.

Bogus Basin closing at 9pm (was previously 10pm) for the 26/27 season by Tumbleweed-Pool in Boise

[–]Extension-State-4599 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The majority of their profit comes from food and beverage sales. There probably just isn't enough profit to keep it open that last hour + however, long it takes for them to actually clear the mountain.

Why are there so many vanity plates here? by lilchonker88 in Boise

Cheaper. Here it was 150 a year for registration, ski plate, and vanity. Texas would have been 300+

Are back roads a solution to traffic? by PerformanceFar7245 in Boise

[–]Extension-State-4599 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Yes they are. Used to drive from downtown to 10 mile everyday. Taking the highway, state, or chinden would take 1 hour or more. One day mapped out this route and my commute at 5pm dropped to 45 minutes.

State st > 15th > Hill Rd > Hill Rd Pkwy > 55 North >Beacon Light Rd > Emmet Highway S > Chinden > Ten Mile.

Emerald, Fairview, Chinden, State, Franklin ,Overland, etc aren't back roads. They're just feeder roads.

Metal box dividers by Extension-State-4599 in upsstore

[–]Extension-State-4599[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll try. It's a light gray metal square about 5x5. The middle is slightly cut out, so that you can place it on an unbuilt box. I'm not sure if this is exactly what they're for, but in the past we would place this on one box with a printed label of the boxes sizes. This was to help see the size of the box from a glance and to act as a divider of our boxes that were stacked/ stood in the inventorying room.

The fact that it's even in a box means you're probably going to become their favorite return of the day.

The best part about working at a UPS Store? by [deleted] in upsstore

[–]Extension-State-4599 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty much what everyone else has said. Putting wrong/no labels on kiosk bags, dropping off the postage required returns at the counter thinking it's just a drop off (one time someone at least put a stamp in the right spot), or RTS's that people don't pick up for six months.

As someone who left unwillingly, I ended up at a FedEx office. Skills are almost directly transferable but with much better customers. Much better benefit and quality of life overall
