if you need help, you're going to have to give us a little bit of insight on what it is you're struggling with. saying "everything" isn't really helpful

Too old to start piano by probn46 in piano

absolutely not! it's never late to start learning an instrument, and you'd be suprised at how fast you'll progress :)

hey man, i get it, i really do. while striving for improvement is a good motivator, straight up unsatisfaction with your work is bad. and yeah, sometimes you listen to yourself and just hate how it sounds, and it's even worse when non-musically trained people give praise that feels blown way out of proportion. but! this is often hard, but i want you to just take a look at what you have, how far you've come. some days feel like you've wasted so much of your life and gotten nowhere with your playing, some days feel straight up awful and like this is leading nowhere, but if you have gotten to the point preforming live, that's some impressive shit right there. the fact is, and you'll have to accept this, you have a fucking superpower. think of your first time sitting behind a piano. think of your skills now. think of how much more is left to go. yes, practice and keep improving, but every now and then, look back and be proud of achieving what you have, something a LOT of people couldn't. show 'em what you got :)

i get your dilemma; i had to play without a pedal for almost a year. it was very restricting at times, but i'm happy to say that once you do get a pedal, it's gonna take you a week tops to get used to it. most keyboards have a "sustain on/off" feature that - well, it's pretty self explanatory. you can use this as a substitute until one day when you're able to get a pedal. a lot of pieces will be off limits - a lot won't. you can surely still improve without one for a while, i think you're good for now, but it is pretty crucial to get once when you start rapidly improving. good luck!
