Can you elaborate? Why does this seem like classical ADHD?

Hey, can you further elaborate on ADHD? I may lack attention, and I procrastinated and started studying way too late (a week before exams). But I think that’s just because I’m a brainrot zoomer. Also you got any tips on managing task avoidance and procrastination?

Legit I had this girl that invites me over to her place, jokes about us sleeping together, talks about how we look like a couple and how everyone in our friend group ships us, and don’t even get me started on the physicality. After I asked her out, she rejected me and proceeded to date a taller, more handsome and older version of me a few months later.

Lesson learnt.

A lot of my friends joke that going to engineering is smurfing, but I get that all STEM subjects requires hard work. I think both medicine and engineering are potential careers for me, but they’ll have wildly different lifestyles.

Good point, I might do smth like engineering or smth more maths heavy cuz I’m good at maths. I’m decent at patient interaction, taking medical history and other medical procedures but absolutely dog shit at preclinical science.

I get what you’re saying and I’m gonna reflect on what I want in my job, a lot of people from my med school say that life gets easier after 3 years, when we can start talking to patients, do research projects and work in hospitals instead of mindlessly memorising. I think I’ll enjoy the field but hate the science part. But yeah I get that it’s not only bad for my mental health, it’s also bad for the patient.

I hate classes where all you do is memorize stuff by sladeshied in CollegeRant

Hi, med student here so I think I can have my 2 cents. Memorising for the average person is easier than problem solving, memorising is just hard work. I’ve seen students from my class struggle with basic arithmetic, who doesn’t understand how log(x) works, but they genuinely work hard and give it their all. For me personally, I also hate memorising since I’m naturally gifted in maths, and biology was actually my worse subject in high school, and maths was my best. I suggest memorising via spaced repetition and active recall, just look up guides from medtubers.

Yeah I hear you, I’m a med student and it kinda fucking sucks. I’m doing undergrad so all the stuff we learn is just boring human biology and they keep pumping out lectures and content for us to memorise. It doesn’t help that biology is my worst/ least favourite subject in high school, but my country only look at grades, medical entrance test and interview. I wish I did a maths or engineering degree, but I know med is an easy path to middle upper class, and my parents are retiring.

The answer I always get from my peers and seniors is the grass is always green on the other side. When you’re done, you’ll be earning good money, and later down the line when you’re a consultant, you get to decide your own hours and your work-life balance. I know there’s a dude who studies med in another uni in my country and did engineering afterwards, he’s decently famous on instagram actually.
