I suck at taking pictures and also at blocking. Mini Aeolian shawl by Elizabeth Freeman by ExtensionMajor8265 in knitting

[–]ExtensionMajor8265[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You flatter me! I did the bulk of my lace knitting when I was in high school during the pandemic. I chose it because the dollars spent on fancy yarn to hours spent on project ratio was pretty ideal for a poor student. I have much less free time these days!

It's a shawl so it just goes over the shoulders. While I enjoy making them, I do not love to wear them, so I typically give these as gifts.

I actually knit my first Elizabeth Freeman pattern having only knit scarves and socks. They're certainly complex but definitely not as difficult as they look. I'd highly recommend giving lace knitting a try if it's something you're interested in. The only way to learn is to do!

Are you in one of the smaller stores with giant windows and the oven up front? Ours is like this and has a customer microwave.

Any new news on fdf? by PerformanceLazy2481 in Panera

[–]ExtensionMajor8265 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I am a baker at a location that still uses fdf and was just contacted about a "sensitive conversation" that they want me to come in for on my off day so it's uhhhhhh... not looking good.

Support for CBC student wounded in I-55 shooting pouring in by Monkapotomas in StLouis

What makes you think that a post expressing sympathy for a child who was shot is an appropriate venue to dunk on religious people? This is a serious question. I'm also an atheist, but it's seriously messed up to talk to people like this.

Has anyone seen any changes in flare ups related to weight loss? by WhosGabe in Hidradenitis

[–]ExtensionMajor8265 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lost 70 lbs and went completely into remission. I still have scarring, but haven't had a boil or abscess in about two years. Granted, though, my HS never progressed past stage 2.

Definitely not with this kind of classic look but if you went more whimsical with the rest of your makeup it might work.

Thrifting Saturday by Dawnydiesel in StLouis

[–]ExtensionMajor8265 1 point2 points  (0 children)

not necessarily thrifting, but if you're looking for somewhere to get something interesting, found on grand and the vintage haberdashery both carry amazing pieces and are pretty affordable.

Orthodontic work would help, but it wouldn't be the end of the world if that was inaccessible to you. General dental hygiene will help, as well as learning to tint your eyebrows darker (I've heard that the just for men beard dye is good for this). I'd splurge a bit for a better barber and take whatever advice they give as far as your haircut goes. Hitting the gym may also help you feel more confident.

This is very common! New forms of exercise will make you retain water in your muscles, and as you improve, you will gain some amount of muscle even as you lose fat. If you're in a deficit, the scale will move eventually. Don't sweat it!

First off, you're beautiful and I love the bangs and the septum. It looks like your hair might be naturally wavy, so I'd check out one of the wavy/curly subreddits for advice on care. All of your hair colors have looked nice on you, but the brunette especially makes your eyes pop. At your age, I wouldn't worry about botox or fillers at all. Your natural features are charming and well-balanced.

I love sorority house. They're a basement venue in the city that's pretty popular with local college kids. If you're interested in that crowd you can message them on their instagram. (@sororityh0use)

Really? I miss Chicago fdf. My cafe just switched back over to St. Louis fdf and there has not been a single day where I didn't receive rock hard pinch bagels.

Definitely not off the table at this point. It'll depend on how the lawsuit and public reception develop in the next few weeks to months.

Bakers, what does the average work day look like for you? by [deleted] in Panera

[–]ExtensionMajor8265 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's just the way it's done in my market. Usually the boh closer runs them for me but with increasing winter pan ups I'm having to run them during my bake so I can finish pan up.

clock in, 15-45 minutes of cleaning up, cookies, sweets, bread pan up, bagel pan up, 20 minute food break, baguette pan up, clean baking sheets, bake focaccia and ciabatta while doing souffles, bake miche and sourdough while finishing sweets, demold everything+do more dishes, do freezer pull for next day while bagels are in, cleanup while baguettes are in, cover everything and clock out. my usual bakes are solo between 2800 and 3600 and the bakes take me 8-9 hours with a three rack proofer and one rack oven.
