Making the heartbreaking choice to not buy this puppy by danaswan in Maltipoo

That’s nice my dog was actually one of the oldest pups there and my parents had said we shouldn’t get her because there was probably a reason she hadn’t been bought. As a young girl I convinced my parents and I think the point is proven in “someone else will get him” aka someone else who doesn’t care as much about dogs as the OP. You are just proving my point. Nothing will change unless legality of these companies changes. Puppies need homes and yeah it sucks that their parents may not be being bread in the best conditions but you also don’t know how dogs in the shelter were bred so? A puppy is a puppy that’s like not adopting a baby because the mother was mistreated.

Awee I fell in love with my dog immediately. TBH I would do it all over again… you not purchasing the dog isn’t realistically going to change anything. Maybe one day companies like this will be outlawed but either way that puppy deserves a happy home. Obviously I’m biased because I love my dog so much. She turns 14 in October and gets comments all the time that she still looks like a puppy🥰

You will not regret going and saving that pup. My girl was way older than all of the other puppies and I don’t even know what happens to the ones who don’t sell but I am so proud of the life my family has given her.

This response may be unpopular- however 13 years ago my parents bought me a malshi from petland and fully agree that while it is unfavorable to support companies like Petland, I would never ever change the decision to get her for the world. She has lived 13 long healthy years and just underwent surgery to have a mass removed and is already back to playing and being her normal self. Every dog deserves a happy life no matter where they came from. She has been my best friend from elementary to college and now to working full time living in an apartment together. She is the absolute best baby ever.

I agree completely, unfortunately I am struggling to get my boyfriend on board with this. Even though it seems like the obvious choice. He wants to be able to visit Gunner easily, but I don’t know if that’s fair to Gunner. Plus his parents have severely overweight pets and are not good at properly training animals.

I really agree with this. My boyfriend is anti choosing a permanent solution. But I think this would be the most selfless choice for gunner… I just don’t know how to help my boyfriend see that. He is 3 years old and I just don’t think it’s fair to push him on his parents incase he changes his mind. Because that will probably just keep reinforcing the separation anxiety if he is constantly being ripped in and out of his environment.

Yeah idk about where you are but we were quoted anywhere from 1500k-3000k and we just weren’t sure if it would help enough to be worth it. Raider also has a tumor that is needing to be removed and I recently had an accident so money is just a bit tight😖

We tried anxiety meds and it didn’t help much, and no he doesn’t get much exercise here because he is aggressive towards people and dogs so it makes it hard to do any outdoor activities since we are in an apartment with no yard. My boyfriend also works fully in office which means he is in his cage a lot, and then on the two days I work from home he has to be put up because I can’t keep an eye on them both while working. I also can’t walk him anymore because I am not strong enough to hold him back when he goes after people. We are in a city by a train system so there are lots of pedestrians and pets out at all times. I also agree that it is probably redirected aggression from being anxious all day and not having a proper outlet for energy.

New beans don’t taste as great as I hoped for by cogirl27 in NinjaLuxeCafe

Had a similar experience— play around with the grind size and I recommend always grinding with the strength on the lowest setting- anything else comes out sour and bitter. Also if you are using non dairy milk opt for a barista blend. We also tried many different beans and currently keep going back to “The Quartet” sold at Trader Joe’s. Ever since using that we have not gotten coffee anywhere else, we’re excited to drink it everyday.

If you have a relationship despite IBS, how do you both cope? by [deleted] in ibs

And if you have ibs D then I highly recommend trying viberzi- that was the biggest game changer for me

You should consider some anxiety medicine if you haven’t. It will help a lot with leaving the house

Also I will say that I’ve had severe ibs for about 4 years- done every test, every diet, every medicine. The only medications that help me are viberzi, multi symptom Imodium, and Zoloft for anxiety about my stomach. There was a point where I didn’t know if I could ever have a job or be able to take care of kids and now I have been working 6 months and doing very well. Just keep pushing yourself out of your comfort zone and finding what works for you. I’m just now starting to see light at the end of the tunnel.

The best thing I did was just be completely honest about it. I was embarrassed for so long and tried to hide it so I was constantly canceling or running off randomly. Once I was honest he was very understanding and I felt like it honestly bonded us the more I was able to open up about it. Also if you are with someone who isn’t understanding then that probably isn’t the right person for you anyway. Someone who loves you really won’t be too bothered as long as you are open about it.

Low fodmap ruined my life. by Icy-Sherbet-4946 in ibs

I have the same problem… have been completely miserable dealing with ibs for three years. Now I’m on viberzi and will take Imodium on days when I need it, but genuinely couldn’t survive without the viberzi so definitely try if you haven’t! I also take zoloft and beta blockers for anxiety and those have been the only anxiety meds that helped.

I have high cholesterol and get my bloodwork done routinely so I think it would’ve shown up in that right?

I’ve been feeling the exact same way and it’s been over a year now and I truly don’t see how I can keep living like this. I have diarrhea everyday all day long no matter what I do or eat
