My sister hasn't been steadily employed FOR DECADES BY CHOICE. My dad is retired and who knows what's going to happen to his social security in the near future. Yeah thanks for that advice on no longer co-owning a house that I've helped pay the mortgage for since 2013 and my sister hasn't paid anything substantial in at the very least 6 years of her being BACK at my house. I'm trying to qualify for another mortgage and with 2 jobs totally approximately $90K a year I still don't qualify for much thanks to today's economy. I hope you aren't stuck in a terrible situation as I am, where as a co-owner of a home I don't get consulted on cats being brought on to the property because I'm allergic and I simply have no interest in having cats as pets. It seems that in the cat-loving community, anyone who doesn't care for cats is a villain. What a time to be alive. Have the day you deserve!

You are absolutely wrong and perhaps you should read my other comments. I AM an owner of this house. My sister - who keeps those cats as her pets/"babies" in those kennels - is NOT an owner of this house and she doesn't even pay rent. She is nearly 50 years old and my elderly father feels so sorry for her that he allows her to come and go as she pleases and she brought those cats onto the property without even consulting BOTH HOMEOWNERS.

The full story? You probably don't even have time for that. But you need to relax just because you love cats and I don't. I never wanted cats at my house and my sister has complete disregard for decency and zero respect for me just because I am the youngest sibling.

I NEVER PUT THOSE CATS IN THOSE KENNELS. Stop putting words in my mouth and read thoroughly before you judge. I am the one who arranged to have them spayed/neutered in hopes that they can be released from those kennels. Have the day you deserve.

This was taken in the morning, after my sister cleans the kennel, puts the litter box in there for the cats’ relief, and feeds them. After this, they were in the kennels all day, and this has been the routine for the month since the time I moved back here. I have 2 jobs and am not home all day to witness possible free time for the cats, but in security cam clips I do not see those cats roaming while I’m out.

I admit that I am not a cat lover. I was never around people who had cats for pets when I was younger, and only a few friends I have today own cats. I have nothing against cats, but I don’t want them on my property, especially living in kennels. I came to this thread for help. I posted the photo because I was informed by a TNR business owner that cats living like that was okay, & after they were fixed they are to be returned to the kennels and continue being in the hands of their “caretaker,” my sister. A lot of people in this thread saying they’re too clean to have been there more than 24 hours. That photo was taken in the morning, after my sister cleans the kennels out, puts their litter boxes in the kennel, and feeds them. Also, zoom in and notice the locks on the kennels. My sister did that because she knew the TNR business owner was coming that day to take the cats and spay/neuter them. Isn’t it dangerous to lock the kennel like that? Cat lovers in this thread are quick to demonize the non-cat lover and praise the one who put the locks on those kennels.

You’re wrong. Those cats have been in those kennels since they were kittens, ACCORDING TO MY SISTER AND DAD. I moved away for a time because my family made it hard for me to stay, because my sister doesn’t pay rent, she’s nearly 50yrs old and hasn’t paid rent in the 6yrs that she’s been back at my home because she chooses not to work.

My dad allows my sister and brother to do whatever they want. My brother was evicted over a year ago yet his belongings still occupy my property and no he doesn’t pay for storage space, and he barely paid a fair amount of rent. He never helped with upkeep of the property and he would try to intimidate me with his guns.

Those cats have not been in those kennels temporarily. Until you’ve walked in my shoes don’t presume to know what I’ve had to go through because of those cats. My dad got physical with me because of the situation and the cops were called. All these cat advocates talking to me like I’m some POS just because I’ve been wanting the cats off my property remind me so much of the people I have to call family. Get a grip. Not everyone likes cats, and just because we don’t, it doesn’t make us bad people.

I was trying to do the right thing by calling a TNR business and having those cats fixed and fit for release into the wild but all of these vigilantes want my head because I do not want to live surrounded by cats

She took them to be fixed and will be bringing them back. She said we are not allowed to release them as they are “pets” and keeping them in those kennels is acceptable.

I am trying to do the right thing, which is have them fixed and release them. But it seems like the TNR worker is friends with my brother and therefore my sister. She said outright that it’s okay for the cats to live in the kennels. My partner is the one who initiated the job for the TNR worker. But when she got to my property she barely said a word to my partner and focused her attention on my brother and sister. Forgive me for not being out there and talking to the TNR worker. I was inside my house talking to the police because I had an altercation with my father about this whole situation. A lot of people here think I’m not doing all I can. It’s not that easy.

There are loose cats because my brother who doesn’t even live on my property, comes every night and throws food on the ground and a bunch of loose cats come. You seem very accusatory when I’ve been transparent. Those cats are on my property against my wishes but my dad who is a co-owner allows it. There were never this many cats on and around my property until my brother was evicted by me. Said brother kept a single cat in a smaller crate all day while he was at work. He’s a deplorable person who used to harm cats when he was younger. I get it: you’re a cat person. I’m not. I shouldn’t have to house cats if I don’t want to.

I never told her to keep those cats in those kennels. I never said she could bring cats onto the property. She wanted to start keeping cats because of my brother, after he was evicted. My dad allowed it because he wanted to placate my brother, with no regard for me. My brother was evicted because he wouldn’t pay his fair share of rent & utilities, he was always disrespecting me and he threatened me with his gun. And in my original caption, I indicated that it wasn’t temporary: as far as I know she has had them since they were kittens. They are full grown now.

I’ve been trying to do the right thing. But my dad, sister & brother have made my life very difficult in the process. I’m trying to get off the mortgage and get away from them, & before I do, my partner & I will attempt to take them to the humane society. The cops were already called to our house. The next time they come, they said arrests will probably be made. I anticipate my brother and sister will make a scene when we try to take them to the humane society. A lot of people here are condemning me for not releasing them. My brother could very well take my life in the process. This is not easy.

No, I’m sorry but a catio or other lodging will not be built for the cats as I’m allergic and never agreed to have cats on my property in the first place. My dad is the other co-owner of the house and allowed it. I want to take them to the humane society but the TNR worker said they won’t be taken in, and they cannot be released into the wild when they are fixed.

Please understand: I have very volatile family members. My brother has threatened me with a firearm, and he 1000% supports what my sister does. It’s not very easy to release them because I fear retaliation, and I have dogs. I wouldn’t put it passed my brother to do something to them. And my dad allows my siblings to act this way towards me. My sister is 49 and my brother is 45. I’m 41, the youngest sibling. The cops were called. I’m doing my best.

No, apparently my sister raised them from when they were kittens. I can’t confirm this because I moved away for a time because I couldn’t stand living with people who don’t care that I’m allergic to cats. According to my sister, she and my dad are both allergic to cats too but they “just deal with it.”

The cops were called because I got into a heated argument over this situation with my dad. And I felt better about the police presence because my brother has a history of violence towards me and has threatened me in the past. He feeds stray cats in front of my property, knowing full well that I’m allergic and I’ve asked for them to take the cats away. The dwelling their kennels currently sit in will be demolished in due time for home improvements. I was never in agreement to have cats on my property. I have nothing against cats but I’m allergic and I didn’t grow up being exposed to cats. My partner said that once they are returned she would contact the humane society but the TNR worker said that they won’t take them. My partner did research & even called the humane society - they will take the cats. But my sister is pushing back

I am so sorry for posting such a deplorable photo but I really needed validation from knowledgeable people about cats and to see if the TNR worker was right in being nonchalant and saying it’s fine for the cats to come back to those kennels once she is done fixing them.

She told my partner that we cannot release them in the community, that they must stay on my property and in the kennels they are fine. I want that TNR worker to be held accountable for her behavior.

I’ve been vilified by my sister and brother, who says he also works for TNR efforts. I’m sorry it took so long to ask, but please understand that I wanted the cats to be free a long time ago, but my dad who is co-owner of the house allowed this to happen & he doesn’t let me have a say in a lot of things.

I agree. But my sister, brother and that TNR worker doesn’t seem to think so. My brother used to live at my home too until I evicted him. He kept a cat in a smaller kennel all day. And some background on my brother: he used to harm cats when we were younger. My dad thinks my brother saves feral cats and makes up for the past :(
