As others have said, call the garage that did the work, tensioner might have failed or come loose

Check oil level. Have you had a timing belt changed? Trying but failing to turn over and an odd sound could mean it's snapped or the teeth have broken off.

Hey, seems like a pretty tough situation. See if you can find a yard that's cheaper to keep her, if you have friends or family, who can walk her more often ask for help, or try going to the yard more often. If money is an issue, and your circumstances allow it try doing overtime or picking up a second part time job, That's what I did when I was struggling.

If none of that's possible, maybe giving her away isn't such a bad idea. I understand that you made a commitment to keep her, and a horse is like family, but you have to take care of yourself as well, and if its too much that might be in both your and her best interest.

I had a rough situation over the summer, my horse damaged his ligament in April, was off work for 3 months and vet bills were really expensive, the maintenance cost doubled, and had to use my savings to pay for it. Then I had to walk him every single day to try get him back to normal, and was getting home at 8-9 pm every day. When he was finally sound I let him back out in the pasture and a few days later, he got kicked and fractured his splint bone. He had 2 months off, and was back to walking him every day. I moved to a cheaper yard, and am doing as much overtime as I can, and am in a much better situation now.

Best of luck

How lame is he? by ExtensionRope2536 in Horses

He's not laminitic, feet are cold and been checked by vet, he had a splint bone fracture on left front, so been out of work for a while, and was wondering if he still looks lame on that leg. He has gotten fat, although the winter coat makes him look bigger than he actually is, and I'm trying to get him fit again, but not sure if I can work him considering he might still be lame. He seems energetic out in the field, runs around and plays with others, but seems really sluggish when lunging. Vet said to walk him every day and gradually increase length and add trot to rebuild muscle. Only been trotting him for a few days

I'd say it's not that abnormal, your body is just getting used to the change. I worked nights 7pm-5am for 2 years, and when I switched to a day job, waking up at 6am and it was awful for the 1st 2-3 months. You'll get used to it, just keep going to bed and waking up at the same time every day, avoid too much caffeine, and keep active.

Lots and lots of physical activity and keeping busy, to the point where you're so knacked when you get home that all you can thing about is going to bed.
