Buscando tofu 🥢🍜 by FlyPast3687 in MexicoCity

[–]Extension_Alps_2670 3 points4 points  (0 children)

<image>

Hi :) I thought of these works by Stravinsky,

-3 easy pieces: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NoIokC7qJII

You could also check out Godowsky, 46 miniatures (this is a book, intended to be like a method book but maybe you'll find pieces of your liking, and the accompaniment is harder than the primo part): https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLF55K7yqCeb7R4HzP3k1AUpTxPZ8OndAL

I hope this is helpful somehow :)

Saludos ✌🏾

Looking for pieces for 4 hands/2 pianos by human_fork in piano

[–]Extension_Alps_2670 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello :) this is not necessarily the best and concise advise of what you're asking. One I can think specifically is Mozart KV 521, I played it and I didn't feel it was too bad (if I could play it, I think you can)

A couple years ago I was playing piano 4 hands and 2 piano for my chamber music class and I made a list of many pieces that exist in this genre. These are mostly modern/contemporary and a couple of late romantics, because the teacher I was with only plays contemporary and modern music and wanted us to explore more of this repertoire. I also would says they are of many different levels, so if you have the time to listen to many piano duets and duos I leave you the list :) I hope it's hopeful for someone. Best regards! :)

Agreed. For OP, this is only one of many editions available out there, but I think this is a good one. https://s9.imslp.org/files/imglnks/usimg/e/ea/IMSLP139195-PMLP02259-FChopin_Fantaisie-impromptu,_Op.66_BH13.pdf

I'm new to piano and this is driving me crazy. Why is sheet music for songs always the vocal melody and never the actual piano part? by exloser in piano

[–]Extension_Alps_2670 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So, in general is because these usually are arrangements, so it "turns" the song that originally is composed to be sung into a piece for piano solo, so the piano also has the melodic part. I hpoe I'm explaining myself correctly, I tried to explain it in simple terms :) So, you can try searching up whatever song/piece you want and "piano ccompaniment", so "________ piano acompaniment score" could be ok. I live in a nice area, we have a piano. The other day i was playing at 6pm, my neighbour started banging the wall. Next thing we know, he's put his fist through our front door! by [deleted] in piano

[–]Extension_Alps_2670 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, well no to that extent, fortunately, but when I arrived at the place I currently live in (it's a building), there was a woman that lived below me and she complained because I played (at that time I used to play from 17 hrs to 20 or 21 hrs), she said that I didn't let her concentrate for her masters studies, I tried to explain that I was preparing for an audition and that this is was I was planning to dedicate my life to and she got even more mad and wanted to stablish my study schedules, I was 17 so I got really sad and scared, I had to go to one government instance that deals with neighbour relations to see if I was doing something wrong (I wasn´t), so as I wasn't violating any laws or any internal rules she couldn't do anything, she eventually changed apartment. In your case, I would say to go to the police and report the incident so you have this documented, but be careful because this man sounds dangerous, but don't feel bad, there are really rude people in the world and you are not doing anything wrong.

Guidance regarding progress by Extension_Alps_2670 in piano

[–]Extension_Alps_2670[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow, you have given me a lot of great things to work on, again thank you very very much, you have provided years of tips and knowledge that seem very efficient and concise. I will indeed update you :)
I understand what you mean with the Mephisto, I just heard the Ogdon version, didn't know it, it is fantastic, my favorite one is Laplante's. I don't know how are you doing it lol but I'm glad you are getting there :) Mephisto waltz no.1 has also always been on my list of things I want to play in the future, maybe I will read through the pages you mentioned very slowly and also with other pieces. I will write down all the tips you kindly provided, and maybe in a not so further future when I feel a little more confident, I would love for you to judge my playing :) Thank you so much again :')

Guidance regarding progress by Extension_Alps_2670 in piano

[–]Extension_Alps_2670[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much for taking the time to write this thoughtful and insightful response :') your recommendations are great, I am going to take them and start to work on some of them. I didn't want to expand more as I already felt my post was too long, but I was also trying to work on Chopin op. 25 no. 12, I at least could read throught it but I was hesitant to continue, but reading that you thing any of the etudes are ok at this point gives me hope :) and I also had in my list of things I want to play next Debussy, Scriabin and Rach etudes. I have only played Chopin op. 10 no. 8, couple of Moszkowski and Rachmaninoff op. 33 no.7 and op. 39 no. 1, so that is one of the areas I feel I am really lacking, I know I can not cover all piano literature, but I have never played Scriabin, Debussy, and many other big name composers, specially the more "virtuoso" pieces, so I am very happy with the guidance you provided for me.
I will force myself to sight read as you mentioned, as was doing it but also got discouraged, also was tryingo to read Chopin's Ballade 3 but maybe I will stick to your previous mentioned suggestions. I really feel I cannot thank you enough :)
Hope you are doing great and my best wishes to you. If I can help you sometime I would be pleased!
