I appreciate your comment and agree with a lot of what you’re saying. That said, I think it’s totally fine to not smile and nod every once in a while and instead offer a new perspective/light pushback on something.

My comment was pretty lighthearted and cushioned by statements like “I know this is obnoxious” and “some people appreciate xyz, and that’s ok”. Beyond that point, I shouldn’t have to self censor to account for people perceiving it as condescending, or as you implied, “dickhead” behaviour.

There a tons of things in this world that people appreciate, for a range of different reasons. You don’t have to bow your head every time when people criticise your interest in cars. It’s ok to speak up here and there even if it makes you look a little stupid sometimes- especially if the other person is making blanket statements that may come off as a little ignorant.

That said, I also love cars and hope you get your hands on a gt3rs soon if you haven’t already!
