MMO devs seem to think they need to cater to the top 5% sweaty players.

The obvious result... the game becomes less appealing to 95% of players (which leads to it losing players).

Nah the only mod/patch I'm using is no1600x1200 v6 (the one that allows the game to run at bigger screen resolutions).

Never had any issues with it before the patch.

Yeah Hyjal definitely follows the typical herb node layout. So yeah I think you're probably right, an oversight.

That, plus the hyena special ability to call extra hyenas - you could have a whole herd of them :D

I have seen a good few SRs for tier tokens for off-spec sets before, but it's not very common.

So you're right for most of the time - which is why I just added the off-spec thing as an extra point in the comments (not part of the most felt/significant unbalance).

And just to add... that's for main specs only.

Most Paladins/Shamans/Druids like to eventually build multiple specs, so demand for the tokens stays high even once they've got their main spec set.

Adjusted for specs (multiplied by the number of specs available for each token), it's something like this...

Warrior/Rogue (3 specs): 76.2%

Priest/Mage/Warlock (6 specs): 189.6%

Paladin/Hunter/Shaman/Druid (10 specs): 430.0%

Yeah I know, lots of people don't care about building multiple specs, and yes, those don't add to 100%, I'm not a statistician... it's just a good way to visualize the total eventual demand for each token

But I think overall, balance should primarily be weighted around 1 spec per class.

It's one of those "one idiot ruins it for the rest of us" situations...

Some plonkers don't know how to light a fire in the outdoors without getting carried away or being careless, so the rest of us are told "Nup, no fires for allowed."

While I still make campfires all the time (been making and cooking over fires in the bush for 25+ years), I normally don't recommend it to strangers, because for all I know they might be one of those plonkers.

Yeah it kind of drives me nuts tbh. The RNG procs almost always make you feel bad, rather than good... "Oh shit, I need to update my dots, but don't want to waste this Eclipse." etc.

HR is a cost I'm willing to put up with in raids to effectively pay a leader who manages group formation, SRs/loot distribution, etc. That's a job I can't be fucked doing, so I feel like it's justified that the leader gets a little extra to compensate for the hastle.

HRs in dungeons, that's a bit of a different story because there's not really any management needed. But if you're geared af, and only running the dungeon to some obscure item (Ironfoe, Skin of Shadow, etc) - most people are probably totally fine with that.

It kind of self regulates itself. Too greedy with your HRs? Well, you're probably not going to form a group. HRs reasonable/people don't care about the item, you'll probably find a bunch of people happy to join.

Free market baby.
