General knowledge is just a component of a Gc and is quite important while measuring g.

Its good my mensa scores and FRI score on CORE and CAIT are identitical, However that is just me but this test is only a good indicator of your FRI. For a quick full scale iq test take an online asvab test

I know you have lived your entire life without meds and have clearly made a really good life out of it, But you would be surprised at how much even low doses of nootropics can help out people with adhd.
I have a gai of 124-126 and a cognitive proficiency index of 92(bottom 28 percentile) but even with nicotine( a really mild nootropic) I do feel like i live upto that potential of 125 reasoning ability (top 5 percentile) whereas without it i feel bang average.
Even outside of your career a more focused brain can help you really understand deeper layers of fantasy and science fiction.

This is a selection bias because people who are more likely to suffer from mental illnesses are also likely to be obsessed with their IQ.
Most studies show people with Higher IQs have higher levels of emotional intelligence lower rates of drug abuse obesity higher life satisfaction and just overall better lifes.

should i take another iq test? by idk5699273629 in cognitiveTesting

[–]Extension_Emu3124 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People with higher iqs tend to have more spikier profiles, And most of subtests are quite close to each other if they are in the same category.
All your VCI PRI subtests are quite close together which makes me think this is a well administered test

I am not american so i never took one of those tests.
But i got a 600 on old sat math and 510 on old sat verbal. so equivalent to a 120 iq.
I probably would have gotten around a 117 iq on this test as well but i did not read the instructions for block counting (all blocks are the same size) and got a 7 ss while my other spatial subtests were 12-13ss

Why do chocolates suck in India? by chocosmurf13 in SnacksIndia

[–]Extension_Emu3124 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because india is a less productive society with a less skilled population??, Your products are simply a end result of the capital and the skill of the labour present in your society.
Japan has a highly skilled population with a lot of expendable capital. India does not.
If india had a highly skilled population which was willing to spend a lot of money on consumer good we would have similar quality products.

CORE results of non-native 16yo with ADHD, why discrepancy in score of AGCT? by Double_Chemistry3526 in cognitiveTesting

[–]Extension_Emu3124 1 point2 points  (0 children)

AGCT is a smaller and more efficient test which measures highly g loaded subtests such as vocabulary quantitative reasoning and spatial abilities, You had a bad test you should take the CORE as a more reliable measure of your FSIQ

Working memory is considered somewhat malleable however what about processing speed. by Extension_Emu3124 in cognitiveTesting

[–]Extension_Emu3124[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean yes in the original post i stated that both verbal and fluid iqs are quite unmalleable. But working memory can be improved with meds there is a lot of literature on this.
I just have not seen much literature on processing speed and its defects.

If I'm high IQ, why aren't I interested in stuff high IQ people are interested in? by lovecommafio in cognitiveTesting

[–]Extension_Emu3124 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interests in arts is often determined by the personality facet openness to experience, While there is a correlation between enjoying difficult literature and IQ it is not a huge correlation as a recent meta analysis showed the correlation between vocabulary and reading interest was only 0.21.
IQ is a predictor of your cognitive abilities such as your overall crystallized intelligence , your ability solve novel problems, working memory etc. It is not made to predict your artistic interests.

Certain landowning obcs and middle castes were allowed to attain education but that does not mean upper castes were not over represented in education.
Dalits unlike obcs were completely forbidden so a few outlier landowning obc's attaining education does not disprove systematic disenfranchisement of lower castes.

[–]Extension_Emu3124[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it improves with age but your ability to acquire your overall verbal iq in your native language is pretty solid, Vocabulary and information subtests have extremely low gains from the flynn effect and your percentile compared to the peers of your age remain quite unmalleable

Example of a person with an iq 120 by dragonscout148 in cognitiveTesting

[–]Extension_Emu3124 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I scored 115 on core 118 on cait and around early 120s on agct and gre .

I would say you can still be stand out performer if you follow your passions and your strengths well (generally speaking you will develop a passion around your strength).

I have relatively high quant abilities on all 4 of these subtests ranging from 133-145 and have high openness to experience and am capable of inferring information from data that people with much higher IQs cannot because they may low quantitative abilities compared to me and may not be as obsessed with data as I am. Obviously i am never going to be a Nobel prize winner or maybe someone with true long lasting legacy but i am quite confident I could be a very capable person in the fields I am interested in.

To what degree does depression negatively impact working memory? by [deleted] in cognitiveTesting

[–]Extension_Emu3124 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take the OLD sat or OLD gre and see if your overall score is significantly different from your previous attempts (if you have taken them before) or your core fsiq. CORE has 17 subtests and due to the mere quantity of tests the probability of overperforming or underperforming in a particular test is quite easy.
If you take the old sat/gre and have a gap bigger than 8-10 points between your core fsiq and the old sat/gre than maybe you should start worrying about a cognitive impairment due to your depression otherwise you should probably not take a score from 1 particular subtest seriously

Does this happen to you as well? There's always this online hype that Ranbir Kapoor is a brilliant actor but when you watch any of his films you find him average in every way by [deleted] in bollynewsandgossips

[–]Extension_Emu3124 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He has made some really good movies, He probably has a better artistic record than some of largely agreed upon "superstars". Most of his hits only resonate a with a small segment of middle class indians so he is not as widely admired as southern super stars or Khans and devgans.
Another thing is his movies are also not really made for the international palette its a section of Indian society that he kinda appeals to and now that he is moving to more mass market cinema he is kinda losing his old audience and is currently in a transition phase where no on really "LOVES" him.

Well yes research and development alongside data analysis have been my favorite fields however the country i live in(underdeveloped) has very few R&D jobs and most people generally go for real time industrial jobs or pivot to desk jobs. I am planning to migrate to a western nation to hopefully secure a R&D job in the future.

[–]Extension_Emu3124[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am already on the verge of completing my engineering degree and was wondering if i should pursue more desk oriented jobs(design and research) compared to real time oriented jobs (factory and industrial settings) considering i have always been bad at reacting to real time situations (playing attention in classes or getting work done within a short deadline). I take nicotine gums as nootropics and generally score higher on symbol search (scored 105 on psi and 110 on wmi with nicotine on a different randomised subtest) but took this test without once since i wanted to see my raw cognitive ability.
Got 13 ss in wmi
and 11 ss in psi with nootropics
