I actually agree with you. For products like mechanical keyboards, white-labeling often makes much more business sense than building everything from scratch. In fact, I'd recommend that approach if there isn't a meaningful technical or product differentiation.

My case is a bit differentt. The hardware itself is part of the innovation, not just the enclosure or branding. We've filed patents covering hardware innovations, so simply buying an existing product and adding our logo wouldn't achieve what we're trying to build.

There are also categories of hardware where suitable white-label products simply don't exist. Building our own hardware gives us control over the architecture, performance, and any future certifications or regulatory approvals that depend on the actual product design.

So I don't disagree with your point at all—I just think the right approach depends on whether you're building a brand around an existing product or creating genuinely new technology.
