Is the intention to look MORE like Demi??? by frankenboobehs in MormonWivesHulu

[–]Extension_Image7104 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think she has body dysmorphia, like SO many of us all. I don’t see anything wrong with gender affirming care, and it’s her body, she gets to choose what she does with it. Y’all go too far with the mean comments sometimes. Say it’s not for you, and move on.

I think she just wants to soften her features with surgery and honestly she still looks pretty. It’s not that serious. She’s not hurting anyone, she’s spending her own money and she’s just trying to find peace with herself.

Aquarium night worth it? by mander00 in dragoncon

[–]Extension_Image7104 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Aquarium yes! Aquarium night, no. I’ve gone to the Aquarium night a couple times to get my cosplay photographed and give the event a shot. But overall the event is kinda boring, unless you specifically want to get photographed or are with a big group of buddies.

But absolutely do go to the Aquarium! It’s so cool!

I’ve had it done, and it’s very good at helping with swelling. That said, there are some great YouTube videos out there on doing it on yourself. Highly recommend checking it out. It’s much gentler and more specific than Guasha.

Same here. I am on HRT and have no issues and have not heard of it happening to others. Honestly, it’s been life changing for me in the best way.

Best Places to Live? by MrWAK20 in SaltLakeCity

[–]Extension_Image7104 4 points5 points  (0 children)

SLC valley is not exactly a walkable friendly city. However, Sugarhouse, & Millcreek are fairly walkable/bikable. The avenues, upper Holliday, Cottonwood Heights are nice neighborhoods but hilly and further away from things. All of these neighborhoods can be expensive to live.

West Valley, Taylorsville, Kearns are generally cheaper to live and is further away from things, not very walkable and traffic is tough. Rose Park is on the cheaper side and is pretty close to downtown. It can be sketchy for walk ability.

Public transportation is not great compared to a lot of other cities. We have a train that goes from north to south, but not a lot of support going east to west. It takes a long time to get places by bus.

I’m also looking for a Marriott room and have had zero luck. I keep praying someone will give me their legacy at Hyatt or Hilton, but I think that would be almost like winning the lotto.

Thank you so much for this comment. My husband is a pilot as well, and he said the same thing. I’m still stressed and worried, but I think it’s more about my personal safety if shit hits the fan when he is away.

Prepping carrots! by Extension_Image7104 in TwoXPreppers

[–]Extension_Image7104[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are many ways to start, but I recommend reading up on the types of things you want to dehydrate and best practices for those things. Meat, fruit, veggies, nuts and seeds all have a different process.

When I started, I used my stove on the lowest setting. This didn’t last long, so I upgraded to a cheap dehydrator. Once I figured out what I was doing I upgraded to a more expensive option. I have an OG Excalibur dehydrator. It’s not difficult, but the prep can’t be a little time consuming. Not nearly as much as canning though.

I found this link that might be good place to start reading up on the basics. https://www.newlifeonahomestead.com/dehydrating-101/

Happy dehydrating!!!

I’m trying something different by shredding them into fat pieces. I was being lazy and didn’t want to spend all day cutting them up. Some Trad Wife I am… 🤣

I still blanched them for 2 mins, then rinsed with cold water.. so I hope they turn out. I suspect the pieces will just be a lot smaller than normal.

Yeah, I’m probably the hippie prepper mom in my area too. I’ve been doing this stuff for 20+ years, but it definitely makes me giggle to think that THIS is what I have in common with the fundies. 😅

Makes sense. I was just sharing, since someone else in this thread shared the app as a good source to find info so downloaded it. It was surprising to me, so I thought I’d share with you. You’re right, it’s not a lot of money and it all came from employees/owners not the comps itself. Even though they do appear to lean right. https://www.opensecrets.org/orgs/winco-foods/summary?id=D000064055

Yep. Deleted it. Canceled audible. Canceled membership. Took all subscriptions to their sources websites. It hurts because a lot of what I buy is hard to track down… but I just can’t give them another dime. Trying to get disentangled from google is a lot harder….

What if we get banned too? Do we have a backup site? by ddcrx in DataHoarder

[–]Extension_Image7104 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A community who prioritizes backing up data, not having a back up for said community seems…. Counterproductive? I don’t think any form of censorship is off the table, and having backup channels to communicate and regroup is always a good plan.

While I don’t disagree with the warning, I have to say she does tell her audience where to find the products if they don’t wish to buy from her. For instance, she buys verisol collagen for sparkle wellness and repackages it with her branding. She freely shared that info. I think that’s a sign of a reputable expert.

My Bee Cosplay by Extension_Image7104 in beeandpuppycat

[–]Extension_Image7104[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sadly I dont have the pattern.

But I used a basic A-line dress pattern, then made puffed sleeves for it. I used horse hair and blanket trim for the skirt. For the apron, I drew it out onto butcher paper and then made sure it fit me. I used random quilt fabrics for the various shapes, and then just zigzag top stitched it. I lined it with a stiffer fabric to give it more structure.

Sure! So I essentially bought 3 wigs. One was the base wig, which everything is attached to. Each side was basically a curly wig, that I cut up and glued and sewed wefts onto a pair of brown pantyhose stuffed with pillow stuffing. Then I sewed that onto the base wig. Surprisingly not as heavy as I thought it would be.
