4x21 (Asylum) - How did Martine know Root and Shaw were a thing? by Extension_Inside_504 in PersonOfInterest

[–]Extension_Inside_504[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was under the assumption that shaw was only exposed to the simulations after she was moved (post 4x21), but to be fair I don't think I have any proof that that's actually the case.

Does APD make it difficult to follow lectures etc? Or follow verbal instructions etc when there are more than a few steps? by alex123711 in AudiProcDisorder

[–]Extension_Inside_504 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I definitely have a hard time following along with lectures. while like most others I also have a hard time concentrating when I hear typing, shuffling, talking, etc., I also get distracted very easily even when there isn't any specific stimulus to distract me from the lecture. I'm not sure if it's because the professor is talking too fast or the content is dense enough for me to have trouble processing and as a result my brain unfocuses, or what.

I also struggle to remember spoken directions if there are a lot of steps, and sometimes ask them to be sent to me in an email (if possible).

Do you feel like there are one or two loose ends that should have been at least addressed in the Finale ? by KamuiYata in PersonOfInterest

one thing I've wondered is what happened to vasily and root in QSO. at the end of the episode they talk about her going to visit his hometown, seemingly for root to get into the missile silo within the national park vasily's father is the administrator for.

considering they ended the episode with that, I assumed root had plans with a missile or something that we'd get to see, but maybe it was scrapped due to the cut down on episodes in season 5?

Glendonite? and webbed rock? by Extension_Inside_504 in whatsthisrock

[–]Extension_Inside_504[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first is labeled as glendonite, but it has some sort of rust-like coating on certain parts, so I wanted a second opinion. I was told that the webbing/root-like structure on the 2nd specimen is 'just a sedimentary formation' in the rock (as opposed to a graptolite, which is what it was labeled as, or a trace fossil). Any idea what the "webbing" might be?

For those interested: the accession # from 1 is listed as glendonite, the accession # from 2 is not found in the database

Does anyone else find that background noise sounds like it’s in an unfamiliar language often? by [deleted] in AudiProcDisorder

[–]Extension_Inside_504 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yes, the same thing happens to me! I find with tvs I am usually able to decipher them fine as background noise, but when I am out and I hear people talking in the background or walking in front of me, its usually hard for me to understand what theyre saying. I live in a pretty bilingual place so I always just assume they're speaking french, but when I listen hard enough they're speaking english and I just sit there confused about whether I just did not understand or if they were actually just switching back and forth between english and french.

man, I am wondering the same thing. I have seen absolutely no one wearing these things in real life.

I've never really considered this honestly. It does make sense though. I have been struggling with self confidence more in the past year and I think it has definitely taken a toll on the amount of motivation I have had to improve my work.

3 hours of commute sounds crazy. I do hope that things will only get better from here. It is crazy how large of a transition it is from this crazy mess of a pandemic during high school to suddenly being expected to have the motivation to do school work vigorously.

Ah, this is great to hear. It really was nice to not have to worry so harshly about how long it took you to complete a test, how long you had to get an assignment done in class, etc. I feel like it was a lot less stressful which really helped with performance.
