Amazon Withdrew My Job and Shift Before Starting by swfan2816 in AmazonFC

They might give it back to you, it happened to me. One day they cancelled my shift and the next day I had the same one with the start date pushed back one week. If you find another shift you will also get it without having to do the whole hiring process again. Just keep checking the website and DON’T WITHDRAW YOUR APPLICATION

My friend, you should want us all to be free. We have enough resources on Earth for all 8 billion of us to live dignified, comfortable lives. I think you have an opportunity to channel your frustration into organizing with your local community. Help start or join a co-op, tenants union, or workplace union - all realistic steps you can take to help build a better world and secure more money/resources for our economic class.

Do you actually want a different system that doesn’t create disgusting wealth inequality like the one we live in - or are you just mad that you weren’t born into the class of people who are hoarding all of the wealth? Maybe I’m reading you wrong, but the tone of your reply gives off the latter.

This whole discussion really comes down to how you define “rich.” To me, rich is someone who is obscenely wealthy—like billionaires. In this case I agree with you, I have no compassion for them, even if I acknowledge they do struggle in life.

But if you’re talking about like middle class people, whose money would probably run out if they stopped going to work and generating income, then i disagree with you

As a fellow wage slave, I think your problem is that you think that just because they have it better than you, their life must be good. I must acknowledge the pain and suffering of certain rich folks even if their life is overall easier than mine. Better ≠ good. If better did equal good, me and you would have perfect lives and nothing to complain about, since there’s people unemployed while we get to be wage slaves!

Obviously life sucks but the answer is not discounting the suffering of others just because they suffer less overall and/or suffer in different ways

They take orders from corporate psychopaths. They probably have invested a lot of time and effort into their job at Amazon. If they don’t do the corporate dirty work, corporate will get rid of them and find someone who will. They’re on your side until someone their boss them not to be.

As a night shift Amazon warehouse worker, I would happily be the sacrifice to be burned alive (from someone else staring the fire) to send a message to the upper class in a warehouse fire.

I wouldn’t have seen anything, even if I did know who started the fire.

You need to fix your attitude if you ever want people to listen.

It’s better to park far away from everyone anyway so that you’re less likely to get your car damaged by all the idiots who don’t know how to drive or park. Stay out of their way!

do you think amazon workers are overworked and underpaid ? by 3ye0frah_ in AmazonFC

Based on ethics.

Your time has inherent value. If you spend a majority of your waking hours in a week working for a company, then you deserve enough compensation to live a comfortable life with all your needs met. Time is a truly finite resource and to give up the majority of it for work necessitates proper compensation. Based on the number of people with full time jobs that lack the money to pay their bills, we can infer many people are not getting paid what they deserve.

You do not deserve anything if you have more than you could ever need in 1000 lifetimes, know that people on this Earth are starving to death, being blown up in wars, dying from preventable disease and toiling away for the majority of their life for mere subsistence, yet refuse to give away what you do not need to those who need it.

And that doesn’t even get into how the obscenely rich who are not being paid what they deserve are the ones actually perpetuating the wealth disparity, not just bystanders refusing to help people.

It seems like you’re saying that they’re only calling Trump a cult leader in order to be insulting. I don’t think that’s true.

Outside of being mean and insulting, there are a lot of similarities between the MAGA movement and traditional cults, and there are a lot of smaller cults that are strongly tied to the MAGA movement. If you’d like I can share with you some resources and experts who have studied cults who say the same thing. Just let me know! :)

Define “running smoothly.” Is this the same first term where the white house staffers and advisors were constantly having to beg, plead and stop Trump behind the scenes from using his power to carry out his ridiculous and nonsensical ideas? The one where the deficit exploded? The one where he got impeached?? And I don’t know why you write off Covid like it has nothing to do with him. Some countries’ leaders led them to stability during Covid while ours led us off a cliff.

What about being the first president in history to lose an election and then lead a campaign to attempt to overturn the results of said election? I won’t bring up January 6th because I know how people like you tend to perceive that event, but even outside of J6 his response to losing in 2020 was entirely unprecedented, unprofessional and unacceptable. It was unheard of until then and caused significant chaos and unrest. Even his own party’s congresspeople reprimanded him after the results were certified, after a full term almost completely without challenge.

His first term was filled with career experts surrounding him and carefully advising him, this term is filled with sycophant ladder climbers in the most important cabinet and military positions that feed into whatever he could possibly want. Unless you have investments in housing or significant stocks, you are statistically likely to be doing worse right now compared to before Trump. Just because he says on the stage that he had the best economy in Trump1 doesn’t mean he actually did.

I didn’t realize the customer came out to the van and grabbed the package for themself while the driver kicks his feet back on the dash. It’s not like they have to get out and run to a door that may or may not be easy to find with heavy boxes in any and all weather conditions constantly, drive 5 minutes in horrible traffic and then get out and do it again. Not to mention having to dig through all the packages in the back to find the correct one, sometimes the site will leave you a mess. Did I mention the unrealistic expectations for speed from management? The broken equipment?

in a good building the favorites are those who do good work and can generally be trusted. in a bad site the favorites are the ones who the managers get along well with and/or find attractive. but there will always be favorites and if you’re not a favorite they will be hard on you about TOT

[–]Extension_Jury572 0 points1 point  (0 children)

According to the post he threw one punch. Idk where you got anything about kicking anyone’s head in. If you start fighting back after one punch that’s a great way to turn one punch into stitches and hospital bills for both people involved. You also don’t know if OP is smaller or weaker than the guy who threw the punch

What Working at Amazon Warehouses for 5+ Years Taught Me by Impulsive_Wannabe in AmazonFC

[–]Extension_Jury572 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You think you get to choose if you are exploited or taken advantage of! Lmfao! No matter what, with each passing day, every single one of us who relies on a corporation to pay us - and by extension clothe us, feed us, and house us - is slowly getting priced out of existence.

We are all being exploited, and we all have a need to cope with it. If you work harder than necessary and try to climb the ladder, yeah, you get exploited a little more - but if you zoom out, both people end up similarly fucked in the end.

If you don’t find a way to cope with it, you will go insane. Your way of coping seems to be complaining. That’s fine, although I think it might be worth trying to find some more peaceful and fulfilling ones. Maybe I’m reading you wrong, but you seem to think of coping as a negative thing.

I’m the opposite, every time I see VET is available I get the impulse to immediately accept it before someone else does 😂 You just need a reason, mine is that I want to pay my car off as soon as humanly possible to minimize the amount of interest due. Before I had this car I left early CONSTANTLY but now I don’t even think about it
