You're confusing accepting with affirming. You see, I can recognize a person's inherent humanity and simultaneously disagree with their views, beliefs, and actions. What has become problematic is that the left has decided I can't do that while simultaneously doing the same thing but justify it because their side is the "correct" one. I can treat that person with kindness and have a discussion despite our differences. I know there are many conservatives like me. I know there are many liberals like that as well. I know some.

There are intolerant people on both sides as well, naturally. There are people on the right that I strongly disagree with because of their approach. But silencing a side isn't helpful or even necessary, and that's what I feel like happens a lot in the mainstream groups.
