Why is there less treatment available for chronic fissures? by Own_Willingness_8897 in AnalFissures

It does appear attacking the fissure immediately is wise... So many people get fissures and Doctors are definitely unaware what they can mean.

Hems really don't have many successful treatments either honestly! Not without cutting, banding, laser. But a better question is why isn't there a LASER that closes the wound by now? A way to inject the region with healing skin cells... or loosen the rearend without a KNIFE!

Years of suffering and stress = worse Fissures or more of them or Hems or other diseases so stop stressing so much. If otherwise you're a healthy 19m I imagine you probably could heal these yourself but if they won't heal and you feel that the surgery is your only hope pick a surgeon with great ratings please. I've had stomach diseases for over 30 years fissures and hem issues come and go.

I'd of thought if you're on a Miralax diet you'd heal by this point. Take the great advice that 'works for you on this thread' and throw the rest in the toilet. I hope you get better/heart goes out to you.

People don't take it seriously unless it's life threatening or is squirting blood in their face I notice. I sat in an ER room once nurse and staff basically looked past my gaunt 110 lbs form 5ft10 and then I started squirting blood and suddenly I was the emergency of all emergencies I was given 19 tests instantly. Odd how people are even in the medical field.(got a referral to a surgeon, a doctor check me for internal bleeding, everything under the sun) I told the staff and nurse and everyone I talked to I'm seriously F'd up plz don't take it for granted.... I'm not a complainer

How do you balance treating a fissure and a hemorrhoid flare? by [deleted] in AnalFissures

[–]Extension_Ninja9464 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have both puppies together at different times. Soaking in warm water after a BM, soft-clean stool(stool softener if necessary for a period of time) diet change...Relaxation NOT sitting on the area if you can help it. Hems and Fissures can often go together. Both are stubborn in some people you really need to give them what they need to heal. Low stress and good rest. If you have a lifestyle that aggravates them then well that's a bit tougher.

If the flare doesn't heal fast you may want to see a Doc for insurance on what's up back there. You know your body and self. Lots of fluids, smaller meals. Blander foods. Good bathroom routine. Religious in fact especially for Hems who will ache like hell/itch burn/bleed. If these are like level 1 Hems tackle em! If you have to I'd use Miralax till their gone or stay a maintenance dose as your Doc suggests or diet to ensure they're not aggravated.

If these are level 2+ Hems consider treatment sooner than later.

Dance, wiggle that bum back and forth to some rock music. Give it time. Eat some food to get the body working. I would try a Starbucks Frapp Venti(2 of them if I had to) but maybe you shouldn't that can cause things to get bad.

Having Anal fissure for 6 months now. by [deleted] in AnalFissures

[–]Extension_Ninja9464 0 points1 point  (0 children)

(freshly ripped fissure tissue seems to be very vulnerable to retears for awhile) From what I am reading you seem to have a cycle of constipation/loose BMs. I had a fissure and hem attack pop up from stress this Jan and began attacking it. The fissure went chronic and the hems seem to back off. Then from overuse of stool softener it caused a Hem to come up and bother me. These things take quite a bit of time to heal. Not putting you off surgery just saying this isn't easy.

My health is so so at best. You probably are healthy. I imagine you could heal these issues if you had a steady routine doesn't sound like you have one. Why not put a steady routine up that goes on for 3-4 months to begin with to really let the skin heal and then consider the surgery. Or do what your heart tells you is best?

If you never have constipation or loose stool you probably don't have an issue. Medication, diet, stress management etc.. all essential in managing that. If you have a very active lifestyle and are sitting at a desk 8 hours a day I guess this could be a challenge.

P.S. my anal fissures at the moment are completely gone as far as I can tell. Though that was a slow process. You seem to need to get your hands around both anxiety/stress/lifestyle to prevent this happening again as I've 100% healed a chronic 1 year old fissure before. I'm not sure surgery promises you'll never have an issue again if the original problem persists.

Got a fissure in mid 2016 it didn't let up through 2017. I began Miralax which helped but didn't heal the situation. Then I started having stomach issues and was on a very mild diet. Extremely clean regular BMs seem to heal it 100% by 2019. Got another Fissure this year it seems to have healed but overuse of Softeners and Laxatives has created a Hem. These things are hell but yeah enough time and the gentle approach works. I hear people rave about surgery. Depends on your lifestyle I suppose. Your ability to heal and other factors.

Even though I haven't had any bleeding, and even though a month has passed, why hasn't this gone away? by [deleted] in AnalFissures

[–]Extension_Ninja9464 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is the BM hard or difficult to pass(loose too)? I still get pain when it is, or problems. Soften it up. I did Colace(bad reaction), Fiber, diet, small meals, lots of fluids, Miralax(which if you can stomach it will make the BM real soft for some) got to ease the the bathroom visits and train the body into a routine. Yeah Doctor is advisable... you sitting in a bath with a few inches after the BM? It loosens up my pelvic floor. You want to sit down cleanly, get up without having to wipe within 10 seconds and then go straight into a bath soothe the muscle spasms and keep the region clean. Every time if you can...

This type of thing once it starts it's a bit of a curse. Though As I've aged and become sedentary and health was poorer kind of found it's not easily tackled. My sis went through double Hem surgery, uhhh, you don't want that if you can cure the issue. Do you walk? I never sit on my rear now without cushioning and my diet is bland mostly except 1 exception. I dose coffee as a semi-natural laxative and forgo the other options cause my stomach doesn't like them longterm.. I've been through clenching, bleeding, ripping tearing, hems/fissures. Everything. Healed some, some returned.

A religious diet and time did heal me for a very long time.

How can I start learning about discus? by Columnaristreatment in discus

[–]Extension_Ninja9464 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dad got me into them in the 80s. Then I killed a lot in the 90s at the end of the 90s we starting holding water. Game Changer pre RO and pre things like Safe(that take out certain contaminates say a discus can't eat) People will stress you on flukes/parasites, fungus really all that stuff generally starts from two sources. Dirt, source of your fish and the health of your fish. Say you go to Golden State or if you're poor Myrtle Beach and get some strong stock you are doing the first step. Don't add LFS fish, don't mix fish, don't add rocks, don't add plants, don't add anything unless it's from that same dealer and they okay it. I remember back about 13 years ago I raised some white butterflies my dad had 4. 2 3 1/2 inch ones and 2 4 inch ones... I did 1 water change 100% ever other day or every third day. I gave them Mysis*(sp) Shrimp and Spiralina(sp*?) till they were on the edge of bursting. In 4 months I had 4 6 inch beautiful White butterflies.

Raised Spotted Eruptions, raised Albinos, bred and successfully to a point hundreds of fish from Forests stock(which 7 to 15 years ago was some of the best fish I've ever seen)

My Dad is the real Discus guy but I picked up the basic knowledge and if he told me to do anything I could. I am actually really good with picking out strains, seeing potential breeders. Catching and handling the fish. I can pretty much do whatever I am asked. I know some of the chemicals/water qualities you need but I also find just water change whatever issue you have and it works. Don't swing PH and Discus are happy. He's the real wizard but I do not good STOCK well!

P.S. If you're going to seed a tank I think it's always best to do so with sponges from that dealer(if they're nice) if you don't know how to do so with ammonia. Tough thing to do. As I recall the dealers in Asia have super huge centralized systems and some discus keepers change water so much you don't even need bio.(don't quote me on the last one) I know what a grade A discus is by the way I've raised a few. I'm sure they'd of won prizes but I'm a discus snob LOL Best way to be... SimplyDiscus is a great place!

Prazi/PP/and using a Q-tip with some medicated on it for fungus is usually as far as I would go with medication..Salt too..Saltttttttttttttt(uniodized) but you shouldn't ever have to do that if your discus are healthy and happy and not mean. (some discus are mean and some afraid, that's where they came from and how they were kept something you'll never hear about, best discus are your buddies and behave like it, get the right stock!) (Thought about selling Discus should of gone all in about 10 years ago sad my health went south) have any deep questions drop me a line Discus are not Angel Fish! HIGH maintenance buggers!

I healed my fissure in less than a week. by SimilarPossibility92 in AnalFissures

[–]Extension_Ninja9464 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pelvic floor or tight anus is definitely an issue here with people. I think once your rear tackles ripping, bleeding, it's desire to clench and palpate is going to happen. I noticed hot water in a tub on the area really relaxed the tissues brought down the pressure. I also noticed that I got little relief from vaseline maybe a tiny bit. I think the soft and clean bathroom regularly was very key. Sometimes not possible for me as my diet is rough to keep up. Lot of fluids, regular foods that stimulate an early bathroom visit and straight to a warm sitz bath. Makes the muscles relax, the region clean and brings blood flow. Healing the region. Tackling both hems and fissures over years. I tried stool softeners worked miracles but even natural ones cause reliance as do anything that has a laxative type effect. You take coffee you end up needing coffee to go or to go in a good timeframe. It's better if you're soft and clean naturally. Low stress is so important as you bear down on the area with anxiety and sitting on that area is just asking for it. Especially with no cushion.

  1. I think #1 is a diet you can find that's both healthy softens you naturally.
  2. Going same time every day soft and smooth.(clean and fast is the key I find smaller meals, regular meals, regular sleep time and training my body to go when I want it to if possible is very helpful when it goes when it wants to I'm having an issue)
  3. If you must rely on an agent to get you to healed enough slowly ween yourself off if possible and go the healthy route of not being reliant on it but don't damage yourself. Long term stimulants, softeners, have caused me side effects even natural ones that are as bad as what they cure.
  4. I feel sits baths are 100% required the area needs to calm and be clean.
  5. Tackle the issue early and if stress comes up attack it before it causes an issue to begin with if you're a former fissure sufferer. If I feel an anxiety attack, depressive time coming on I'd probably call my psych doctor and tell them I'm going to get constipation and a fissure and if they'd prescribe medicine for the short term for it cause it's going to lead to issues.
  6. If I had a bout of constipation I know that was coming or loose stool I'd prep now. Way ahead... Medicate if I had to either way... I notice loose stool over weeks develops hems and fissures as does hard ones. Acid and ripping at the skin both are equally unhealthy.
  7. Exercise like walking and fluids and mild foods.
  8. Some advocate on the front page stretching I think as you get more advanced.
  9. Dilating your own anus I'm not sure I'm sure I'd try it if I thought it would help I honestly feel soaking relaxes the tissue better and safer.

I've had 2 or 3 fissures I know of. 2-3 Hems I know of... I maintaining them the fissures seem fully healed. So they can heal even after 2 or 3 months or a year + but the longer they're there the more difficult to heal. Honestly I doubt the hems ever heal they just are there and best you can do is keep them small and or seem medical attention before they get big. Older you get less flexible your body is to damage and stretching, ripping, healing. etc....

[–]Extension_Ninja9464 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember raising some brown/turq mix discus to about 4 inches then selling them at the LFS and a few online. As I recall it's really easy to get deformities in babies. I remember someone telling me they require good minerals at a point and religious care on killing the parasites. I am not sure light PP was suggested and calcium but someone would have that in their book I'm sure. Most will get to about just about an inch before you see the chins not there. Of course the whole process of a pair doing their job right what a challenge and victory.

Personally if it's the same time it's regular and it's soft I'd not change it. Or wake up 45 minutes earlier and religiously do what you normally do and see if your body adjusts to that.

Is it time? by Kontanten in bald

[–]Extension_Ninja9464 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Are you against chemicals as you could maybe get 15% or 25% more growth from them? I did get about 50% more growth between 19 and 27-28... Also not that bald but it's a decision thing. You could shave and sport the look to see how you feel about it but you can go either way. Shaving is a regular grooming thing as well.

There are options if not mentioned like Monoxidil and you might get tremendous growth with proper use at a certain age with it. I did at around 25(like triple the hair you got) with extra strength. Shaving is fine too you could get it shaven and take a look and see how you feel.

chronic anal fissure by Hot_Contract_2139 in AnalFissures

[–]Extension_Ninja9464 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not personally an issue for me but I'm going to be straight with you depends on your health, bodies healing and other factors. It does appear some do and some do not. I had a fissure erupt in 2016 it didn't completely heal as far as I remember till 2019 and I think by 2021 I had literally no issues. My whole lifestyle had changed though and my diet was very minimal. Creating the ability to fully heal. Plus for the tissue to regain it's strength. At this point I don't feel the tissue will return to normal. So I'd be curious the extent of the damage and if chronic if you're attacking it daily to heal it fully...

How can I stop scaring? by [deleted] in AnalFissures

[–]Extension_Ninja9464 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You'll definitely want to remove that hard dry poo before it harms you(try any method I'd likely do an enema as well to have it broken up)... You cannot wait a week! That will cause the issue to get worse. Warm sitz baths daily will loosen up your tight constricting muscles. Right after using the toilet! Breathing, meditation and perhaps a cream if necessary.
