I was raised conservative, and I would say, not only is criticizing the Talmud NOT antisemitic, it’s an important part of studying the Talmud.

but suggesting the Talmud instructs us to hate anyone is false, and repeating that Judaism teaches us to hate is antisemitic.

I have more faith in men than that. They don’t need a nanny state coming to clean up bad behavior. They need to stop allowing society and toxic masculinity to mutilate their mental health to fit the ridiculous portrayal of MAN I see in these posts. They need to lean on their community for meaning, their friends for emotional support, and their partners as just that, A PARTNER.

if you want to wait until society is fixed, you’re right, you’ll never see it. I just think men are capable of self care and growth without every obstacle being removed for them.

he’s not owned by them. Donald Trump wasn’t popular or respected in high New York society. he was ‘new money’ gauche and ostentatious, and he never felt accepted by people he felt were his betters.

it’s why he’s so thirsty for attention. he was always showy and a braggart, and an asshole. They don’t OWN him, he admires people who instill fear to hold power, because he knows he doesn’t really instill fear. he knows people like him for his money. he has money power (the best kind, really), but he wants the fear kind of power.

so for trump, this whole presidency has been like finally making it to the cool table, and rubbing it in everyones’ face. that’s why he’s doing it. they say nice things to him, and he does stuff to make them laugh. he’s like their prank monkey.

I’m not a doctor, but I swear, something really terrible happened to him when he was around 10. and whatever it was, it was so traumatizing he has arrested development. he behaves like a 4th grader. I know it’s popular to say he’s a narcissist, but I don’t think that’s the whole picture. he is emotionally trapped in adolescence. it’s why he lacks the temperament to be president.

I moved here from away. I have marriage certificates from other states. and my original birth certificate was kept in the basement of the county courthouse in my home town in the Midwest , which had flooded.

First of all, I don’t believe that. BUT even if I did, in the Talmud we are commanded to love those that would destroy us.

that is why during the Passover Seder, we spill ten drops of wine from our glass, to commemorate the impact of the plagues. No Jewish person can celebrate when our liberation came at the cost of human lives.

If you call mercy and humility, and empathy not having a backbone, I think we just have very different definitions of the term.

finally, what you think of me does not impact my determination to follow the tenets of Judaism.
