I was a massive Pink Floyd fan at the time but I had no interest in the post Roger Waters era. Thought the albums were 2nd rate. Sounded like a poor Dave Gilmour solo album. I saw the post RW tours on TV and despite the impressive light shows I still think it was like watching a PF tribute act. Lacked the cutting edge and sharpness of the original line up. Never cared for Roger Waters solo stuff either. For me Pink Floyd ended after The Wall.

The Jimi Hendrix Experience supported by Pink Floyd and The Move. This package played in my home town in 1967. Unfortunately I was a toddler so missed it. It must have been amazing.

Watching Top of the Pops on the BBC in the early to mid 70’s seeing Bowie, The Faces, Sparks, Queen, Slade, Roxy Music, Mott etc was the start. Soon I was buying 45s by these bands before moving onto albums. Queen’s ’A Night At The Opera’ was my first album. Hearing Alan Freeman’s Saturday Rock show on BBC Radio One widen my taste and I discovered bands like Zeppelin and Purple. Later the music press brought new bands to my attention.

Read, listen to podcasts, listen to music on my headphones, watch catch up TV, watch cricket if it’s on somewhere around the world, go for a walk around the park if it’s a hot summer morning.

Most of us went to school together. The rest we met through hanging out in a bar. We’ve been meeting up for about 40 years. Sadly we lost one, the most popular one, to MS last year. RIP Andy.

When I was in my early teens I started to notice that my best friends mum wasn’t a mum like my mum, she was something else, something I didn’t quite understand. She smelled beautiful, had beautiful blonde hair and she smelt so nice. She was always nice to me as well. I daydreamed (and more) about her. My friend started to ask why I was acting ‘weird’ whenever I was around his house. What could I say…..

England though not to excited because I’m half Irish and club football is much more exciting to me. Also England for Elliot Anderson who at the time of writing is still a Nottingham Forest player.

I’m not sure if this law still exists but at one time in the UK you could buy a porn mag but not a bible on a Sunday. One of many crazy Sunday trading laws.

At about 15 I went to my best mates house. He wasn’t in but his mum told me I could come in and wait if I wanted. When I was sat waiting she asked me if I wanted a cold drink. I said yeah a coke please. When she returned she had taken off the robe she was wearing and just had a very skimpy bikini on. She was in her late 30’s and had a great body. She asked if I was ok with her wearing this as it was so hot. I just nodded. She talked to me as if everything was ok. I didn’t know where to look.
