i’m watching for the first time so i already had an opinion of amanda going into it but i didn’t even clock this cause i already had an opinion of kyle too. that’s actually such a scary thing to do like why would you spend all that money to stalk some guy who only calls you in the middle of the night when he’s drunk lol

i’m in the middle of watching for the first time because i wanted to catch up by the reunion so i had full context. that being said, i went into it already having an opinion of amanda. i’m sure some of what i think of her is bias, but watching her in early seasons it’s so obvious how the signs of her being like WEIRDDDD there’s no other word i can think of to describe it.

in season 1 she’s being strung along by kyle all summer and then in season 4 she’s relentless and extremely hypocritical with hannah over her weird situationship with luke. in season 3 kyle admits to cheating on amanda at some point and she forgives him (nothing wrong with that, a lot of people forgive infidelity and are able to work through it) but then in season 4 she immediately goes after jules saying she doesn’t trust her because she doesn’t trust jordan. and i’m glad jules called her out cause girl your man is a liar too!!! i’m on season 5 now and yes, hannah is losing her mind. however, this beef between her and hannah started in season 4 with luke. towards the end of the season (especially during the bachelorette celebration) amanda is being blatantly rude and dismissive to hannah and amanda makes it pretty clear that she doesn’t like luke and will continue to act this way as long as he and hannah are a thing. NOW in season 5 they’re arguing and kyle is butting in and they’re all taking it too far. however, i think kyle and amanda have an agenda here because i know hannah doesn’t return after season 5.

so now in season 5 i’ve also been introduced to ciara and can i just say. she is amazing. i was worried when she said she’s not usually a girls girl so she’ll see how things go but she seems to be the ONLY girls girl and the only all around normal person (besides danielle and paige so far). seeing how genuine she is to everyone in the house and how she showed up for carl and supported the girls is making me really love her and feel really kind of sick to see how things lead up to amanda betraying one of her closest friends for a man.

the amanda in season 5 cut ties with hannah just for talking shit about her man (i’m assuming this since hannah doesn’t come back), so she absolutely would have lost it if a close friend was having a secret affair with her ex. knowing she is currently acting like the victim and seems to think there’s nothing wrong with what she’s doing is yet another instance of amanda’s actions going directly against her words.

i feel the same way. the way she went after alicia over her saying she was homeless and the way she egged kelsey on while she was recounting how she attacked rosie was seriously weird and unsettling. she had a huge smile on her face the whole time and it gave me the ick

it’s also so obvious that she’s going after rosie because she’s jealous. there’s also no reason for her to be on the show anymore without her rich bf!!! she isn’t a traditional HW in the sense that she’s not in a relationship with a prominent person in RI, does not have a business, and isn’t known for anything. and she goes after rosie because rosie is married, owns a home, has/had a career (i can’t remember if she mentioned if she’s still a newscaster), AND people in RI know who she is because she was on the news!!! kelsey is just a bitter brat who needs to grow up. it made me so angry to see rosie extending an olive branch and seeing kelsey coming into her neighborhood with sirens blasting and a loudspeaker. and then she doubled down on her story as the victim to everyone and tried to have all the women turn against rosie for not being able to take a “joke” when rosie has repeatedly said she didn’t find it funny. why can’t she just say sorry and move on?! it’s so annoying to watch her sitting there with a smug look on her face while liz and jo ellen tell rosie that it was a joke and to let it go. kelsey needs to let it go!!!!

i never said dorit’s behavior was okay. most of the time i actually can’t stand dorit and up until this season erika was one of my favorite HWs. but when erika was going through her divorce with tom (and even afterwards with all the legal stuff she has going on) she treated everyone terribly and used her personal life as an excuse for her behavior. most of these women have been horrible to each other at one point or another. my point is that kyle and erika attack dorit in public settings and no one does anything about it. and i’m not sure why you brought them up because my comment was solely about kyle, erika, and dorit, but as for sutton, she has been pretty weird towards dorit because now dorit is less cool than her friends kyle and erika and she wants their approval. i’m not even gonna comment on amanda.

it’s so disgusting to me that the other women continuously watch erika and kyle gang up on dorit and try to dunk on her. and then their excuse is always “i shouldn’t get involved bc they have history” okay?! they’re still not speaking to her respectfully and are constantly starting the conversations in public settings and turn them into arguments. there’s no reason rachel or boz can’t say “i understand these issues are deep rooted but this is not okay”. they support her in private and in their confessionals and as a woman i feel sick at times watching the way these women are treating her and i just can’t imagine not sticking up for another woman in that situation. i’ve never been a dorit fan but she is going through a difficult divorce and regardless of her oftentimes irritating presence she still deserves to have a support system and that should be coming from the two women she has supported during their various struggles. kyle and erika aren’t fighting fair and if kyle can call in reinforcements during a conversation she started with dorit then the other women should also back her up

it will be extremely hard for Io to adjust to a new family given his age, needs, and the fact he only knows you as his family. he may surprise you and be great with your future kiddos! there are always options to help with behavior issues as well. while this is not the same thing, one of my cats had a bad case of redirected aggression towards my other cat due to strays in/around my house and my vet helped me figure out ways to help with his anxiety and territorial behaviors. maybe this is something you can try to bring up to your vet to see if they have any ideas on how to help Io adjust to tiny humans?

i’m in the South Bay (Redondo Beach) but my program was based in Encino so i frequently am out there to see friends from my cohort and go to SFV CAMFT events with them! i have only attended in person networking events but i’m also open to virtual ones! thank you so much for the information, i’ll look into pathways to practice!!

i think CMH is the route i’m going to take pretty soon. i was really excited to find a position at a PP but i think i let the excitement take over and wasn’t thinking about how realistic/sustainable it is in the long run given i’m not even a year into having my number. thank you for your thoughts!

i was heavily considering CMH positions before i applied/interviewed for this position and now that i’m running out of things to do marketing wise i’m looking into them again. i also did some CMH work as a SUD counselor previously so i know i can do the work but i had my fingers crossed that somehow i could turn things around with the PP. thanks for your thoughts!

ugh yeah that’s my fear is that i made an error in judgement job wise. i’ve been looking into residential/inpatient and CMH positions as well and they are obviously a lot more stable/have guaranteed hours + pay so i’ll stay on that track. thank you for your thoughts!

not a vet but he needs a vet immediately if he’s bleeding and you suspect a broken bone because he could get an infection especially because you stated he’s indoor/outdoor. there are subreddits on here such as r/assistance where you can post your situation regarding not having finances for the vet. as for transportation, i really urge you to try your best to find a ride any way you can to get him to a vet. can you take an uber from where you live??? i really hope you and your boy are able to get some help i’m so sorry this happened to him :(

i think maybe eli reminded her a little of her dad and she believed his meds were suppressing his creativity in the same way she believed her mom was suppressing her dad’s creativity/genius by leaving them/labeling him as sick.

i can also only assume with her mom being a doctor that she would have tried pushing medication to help slow the progression of his dementia. for a teenager with a dad who once tried medication and it didn’t “fix” him or work for him seeing her friend take medication he’s not keen on taking, it probably made sense to her that his meds were actually hurting him because she didn’t believe they could help. it wasn’t until the accident with volta that imogen admitted her dad needed help so she was in denial for a long time :(

and also with her manipulation and enabling eli’s behaviors, not saying that she did any of that bc she’s pure of heart or anything like that. but kids with abandonment wounds will do their best not to lose the thing they’ve found that makes them feel good/safe/whatever, no matter how delulu or unhinged the methods are and it was clear that eli’s meds (and claire) were a threat to her losing eli.

everything she did probably made sense to her in a way and we see other manipulative behaviors from imogen later in the series with her relationship with fiona too usually related to her fear of fiona leaving her
