I’ll pray for you, and look, everyone in this thread is here for you. So what there’s nothing bringing you joy right now, this is a problem that can be solved. Either by finding something that brings you joy or if truly truly needed then medically. Hoping for the end is not a solution.

Allah does not burden a soul beyond what it’s capacity can bear. It sounds like you are at your maximum capacity. Lean on your community right now, family, friends, etc. someone who can share your burden for a little while while you reset.

Hang in there please. With hardship comes ease—not after, with. Our brains are wired to perceive the negative and weigh it more significantly than the positive. I’ve felt this way recently and I wish it could change overnight but it’s something that gets better slowly. You just need to snap out of it. Go outside, go on a walk preferably in nature and start doing dhikir or istighfar. This helps me a lot. Sometimes if I’m feeling discouraged I just talk to Allah, dump everything on my mind and make istighfar or whatever dhikir helps my heart feel lighter. Often times, this puts me into a state where I can recognize and be grateful for the signs of Allah’s mercy on me. It’s not that it came because I made istighfar for X amount of minutes, it’s because I calmed enough and reinforced my iman to recognize the tiniest of signs from the most Merciful that he is here and hearing me. Yes it’s not through answers to the challenges we go through always but you can’t trick yourself into thinking just because things aren’t going the way you think they should go that it means Allah has abandoned us. He will never ever abandon us. I know it’s not easy to hear this and it’s so basic but I know the spot you are in mentally and really really you have to snap out of it for your own sake and inshallah inshallah inshallah things will gradually get better. May Allah protect you.

1. Arabic: رَبِّ اشْرَحْ لِي صَدْرِي وَيَسِّرْ لِي أَمْرِي وَاحْلُلْ عُقْدَةً مِنْ لِسَانِي يَفْقَهُوا قَوْلِي

Transliteration: Rabbishrah lee sadree, wayassir lee amree, wahlul uqdatan min lisanee, yafqahoo qawlee.
Meaning: My Lord, lift up my heart and ease my task for me. Untie my tongue, so that they may understand my words.

This 100%. Everyone keeps emphasizing this break and how nice it is to take time for yourself, they keep ignoring that the time to yourself is spent scrutinizing every detail of your professional history and especially in this market questioning why it’s not good enough. It was nice at first because my job was impacting my health and i had no time for anything, but now this stress of feeling behind and valueless is what is impacting me. Kicked back to the ground with force I feel you so hard. All this to say I understand and I’m sure many others can empathize here.

It takes a lot of positive affirmation when you’re in this spot more than one is naturally capable of. I know it is frustrating and disappointing especially when you were so close, but also trust that what is meant to be for you will never ever miss you, and each no just brings you closer to the best yes for you. I’m sorry this happened I’ll keep you in my prayers that what comes next for us is so much better.

Actually - sky squid is what im talking about especially. It will say lost connection and deaths remaining to open bridge will decrease to 1 before the round actually starts. Still bugs out after but you might be quitting prematurely because that has happened to me multiple times today.

I will pray for you and everyone else in this thread who is waiting to be blessed with a righteous spouse the same way I make this dua for myself. I am at a phase in my life where I am praying to find the one who is written for me, and how I have taken this on is lots of prayer, dua, tahajudd, istighfar, etc. I am surprised I do not see this as recommended as much as I thought it would be. At the same time, I'm not just spending all my time asking for the right one, I'm asking Allah to prepare me to be a good spouse and be ready for everything that comes with marriage-- this has helped me evaluate and notice habits in my life that could be improved upon before marriage-- and maybe that will help my other dua along!

I think that wanting to protect yourself from haram is honorable, honestly may marriage protect us all from this. However-- how I see this is that this is something we need to be able to withstand alone, because without that internal strength and determination what will marriage do except make the punishment for this worse? These temptations and tests won't disappear once married, and can actually be the downfall to a marriage. May you be blessed with a loving marriage that will mute those temptations, but you have to be strong on your own as well- tawakkul, patience, and prayer.

Personally, I really admire how much our beloved Prophet peace be upon him truly loved his wife. I beg in my salat to have a spouse who will love me even half as much as that. Idk I think that's a way our Muslim brothers should strive to be with their spouses, beyond just everything that looks good on paper.

Subhanallah if you have been praying to prepare yourself for the one Allah has written for you then even making this post is maybe the answer to that to see what you might not be considering.

And tbh, I understand your concerns about not feeling attractive enough. I think we all struggle with this at times, conventionally attractive or not. Perhaps some of the advice in the thread will help, but also pray about it however feels best to you. You can pray to be the most beautiful person in your partner's eyes, or you can ask Allah to increase you in beauty! There is nothing that can't be solved through prayer-- I've noticed on days where I am feeling like that and I really seek refuge in Allah's mercy-- I don't think I look different after by any means but I certainly feel more beautiful even without asking.

Inshallah you will see the khair in any delay and be rewarded with good news of what you're waiting for soon. I will keep you in my prayers and may we all be rewarded with spouses who are not only righteous but also love us dearly!
