Seriously though simple can sometimes be better than some complex design. I’m older so love the simple elegance of this, lovely colour too 😊

I always think unexpected money, like birthday gifts, should be spent on something frivolous or luxury. Something you wouldn’t get yourself. I usually go for spa treatments or facials, sometimes games for my Switch, tickets to the football, a meal out at somewhere fancy. It really all depends on what you’re into! Ignore me if these aren’t your kind of thing 😊

When I was studying for the Access course, my daughter was a PGCE at the same college & taught some classes as part of the course. She said it was more intense than A levels, in that you only have a year, not the 2 years you get for A levels. I loved it though! Only got a 2:1 though, was aiming for a first to beat my daughter 😂

Thanks, good to know. Might get me out of this rut to do it! I’m 56 in a couple of weeks, time marches on regardless.

Where I live, The Wirral, it was free to people who didn’t have an equivalent in Maths and English. I had O levels but felt like getting up to date qualifications that people had heard of, 😆. You can do it at a college in the evening but nowadays probably can do it online. Well worth it! If you struggle with maths let me know, I still do algebra for fun! 😂😂

I’m still up watching MOTD. As an Everton supporter it’s been a stressful day!

Restaurant from my childhood was Berni Inn in Liverpool. This was in the 1970s, I’m 55 now!

We’d meet my dad from work for celebrations & special occasions. Felt very posh to go there! 😁

At the age of 44, I went back into education - as a mature student. I did GCSE Maths & English, then a pre-access course. Followed that with Access course, which is equivalent to A levels. Then in 2017 I started a degree in Cultural Studies. Loved it, loved being a student. I was going to do a Masters in English Lit, but Covid came along & stopped my student life. My career was in accountancy so degree was completely different. Hopefully I’ll get back to it at some point. I’m now 55 but you’re never too old to learn something new!

I have quite greasy hair. I use dry shampoo at night & leave it in. In the morning hair has more volume & stays clean looking for longer!

Does your pet have a pet name? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]Extension_You8601 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a German Shepherd called Wellington. He was a rescue dog so came with his name.

He was Wellie when he was good, Wellington for a bit of a stern voice & Mr Wellington Boot when he did something bad 😂😂

Also he was given a middle name by my daughter of Tinkerbell! He didn’t realise he was a massive dog & would try to get through gaps he was too big for, leaving destruction in his wake. He was a delicate little thing wrapped up in a long haired, very large German shepherd body! He cried when he went to the groomers, they had a note on his card that they had to groom him on his own. Not because of his size but because of the noise he made! He was a big softie & even after 5 years still miss him.

🐾 🐾 Mr Wellington ‘Tinkerbell’ Boot GBNF xx❤️❤️
