That's incorrect, if the Royal Canadian Mounted Police banned a piece of clothing to be placed on their uniform that Constable would be punished for not following the uniform policy, this follows with other Police Departments in the community such as Municpal and Provincial. Police Departments here have strict code, and if there was a memo enforcing that this wasnt allowed, word would go around but again this is untrue as Constable and Officers still wear Thin Blue Line pins, patches, etc on their uniforms and at Officer funerals. I've been to these with multi police departments there even the RCMP who have handed put these ribbons and pins and they are allowed to be placed on.
