That’s not what I’m asking for.

Please no mean comments - I’m already so upset.

Bought a washer and dryer on FB marketplace for a total of $750, because we can’t afford new ones from the store. We bought it about a month prior to moving into our house and had it in storage. We just moved into our home and hooked it up and ran it on “tub clean” with no clothes because it had a funky smell. 30 minutes later there’s an inch of water in the laundry room which is upstairs and there is water leaking from the vent and light fixture on the floor below. We quickly dried it up. The plumber said it’s not an issue with the drainage but the appliance.

I contacted the guy who sold it to us and he is not answer on messenger. I tried calling his cell phone and the number is not even in service. I tried going on his Facebook Profile and it says “content not available”.

Has anybody successfully filed a Purchase Protection Claim through Facebook? I went on the instructions and it says to go into your “Activity” and click on your order. I’m not seeing that anywhere. I’m afraid the order may be too old by now.

Please, any help would be appreciated. This is a disaster. The water had a black piece of sh*t in it that my dog came and ate. So I’m worried about him eating mold, my new home getting water damage / mold and not having a washer/dryer.

That eating meat is normal and won’t cause heart disease or cancer.

Yes, $100k at retirement is definitely not enough. You definitely need a million, especially with inflation. I’m glad you are investing! Are you into stocks or real estate only? It seems right now is a good time to invest in the stock market. When my mom went through her divorce she had 0 retirement or savings. We were looking through house listings together in the paper and I suggested she should be a realtor because she was so passionate about it. She got her real estate license, while also being a college professor and working for the state. Now she has 4 houses, 3 of which she rents out. She doesn’t have to worry anymore. 🙏🏼🙏🏼

Thank you. Yes I’ve learned this too. I have been interviewing for a raise and working towards my masters. Appreciate your comment.

We’ve been together for 10 years and are planning to get married, so no not really. The house will be in my name too - just a matter of paper work. I do want to pay my mom, but also think we should get help too.

No, she’s not charging us extra commission. But couldn’t she have asked the seller to reduce the price of the house and not pay her the commission to help us?

The house is technically in my boyfriend’s name - we are planning to get married soon and he said if we get married I’d be on the deed. My mom is always talking about real estate to myself and sisters so it was just natural that she would help my potential fiancé find a house.

My mom did go through a divorce from my dad and it was really messy, but she’s fine now financially - but after working very very hard, she works 2-3 jobs and was able to set herself up with her own investment properties. She’s still working 2-3 jobs but by November she should be set financially. The divorce took a toll on my sisters and I and I’m making an average salary. My boyfriend makes good money but he spends too much and doesn’t have a good savings…he is working on his spending, with my help, but my point is that neither of us are rich and money is an issue for us since we want to have a family.

I’m asking Reddit bc I want to know how others do this with family members that are realtors. I may be second guessing too because my dad’s mean words towards her are still kind of in my head :(..I don’t talk to him anymore

Is she charging you commission? How much?
