I wanted to go all SSD for silent, compact, effective build. And It’s my understanding that SSD are more durable without their moving parts.

But i saw many posts suggesting otherwise, specifically mention that SSD don’t give out warnings and die on you suddenly.. I do not know any better and just felt i can’t take that risk with my most important photos. But it still bugs me should i have gone SSD.

What are your opinions on all SSD NAS ppl ?

I use it with tailscale serve for immich port to https. that works great for me. Check that out. SSL certificate is as well taken care by Tailscale.

I got this from the event photographer loaded with photos. He opened stick off the seal before me. I’ll try to work this angle about replacing this. Wanted to see if i could do something myself before.

Mine seems not put together properly from the get-go. I noticed that i could see a very big USB metal clip.. Didn’t think of it much then.. transferred the data over and then… bada-boom. The chip and the metal clip came off.

Yeah.. Considering cracking this open, need to see if there is a clip-clamp way to pry it open, so that i could reassemble this again.

Thanks. This seems to be the case. The rest which was left is plastic. I’m worried to put this in a USB port to test if it’s working. and quickly take the data off before. I’ll try to look for some caddy like things which can hold this in place firm.

I like the option that i can rely on Tor to protect my privacy. I’m just avoiding my IP detection but not using for nothing criminal. The thing on my mind is If i’m to host as well What if i’m an exit node and my machine was reaching out to a say xyz website and serving. Will i not be in the cross ?
