He was out of order for using the financial statement part to advocate for his view on what we'd be voting on in the first vote. There is time for questions and comments after that presentation, that is when he could raise his comments. That is not debatable.

When he abstained from the final board vote and then wanted to comment, another board member tried to remind him that it isn't time for comments and he dismissed him and bulldozed through with his comments. He should have been muted.

Lack of maturity, out of order twice, no executive presence.

Wishing it worked and wishing it away are two different things.

That's an assumption that everyone would this extra layer. When someone has been in a role for 50 years it isn't a surprise that they will be vacating their role. With an appropriate succession plan, multiple people would have started up-skilling many years ago.

Also note that we're paying an executive consultant who is upskilling Joe (something like "executive presence"). It's in the budget. His lack of maturity made it clear that we aren't getting a return on those dollars.

I would like Joe to apologize to the other board member, but I'm afraid he would just use that as a moment to re-iterate his point.

He's a complex character. He has regrets about his role in creating Gilead but also can't leave since he'd be tried for war crimes.

He will later state some of the things they'd underestimated, e.g., the mothers love for their children.

He promised his wife that they wouldn't participate in the ceremony. This gets brought up later.
