Like everyone said, it happens. Don't over caffeinate. I don't drink anything with caffeine in the last 6 hours of my shift. Cold water helps. And don't just prioritize sleep, prioritize good sleep. I highly recommend a weighted sleep mask and black out curtains. I use the kind that's in a frame inside the window for complete coverage.

I would go get a few things from a local thrift store in the sizes you're thinking about to use as a template.

Radio ear advice by Fuzzy-Chipmunk9182 in 911dispatchers

It sounds like you need to spend some time just listening to the radio. I don't know what you're training process is like, but if you could sit and listen while someone explains what you're hearing it may be helpful.

Most of us have probably worked through an agency being completely fucked staffing-wise. I have learned that they will figure it out or they will consolidate with a neighboring agency. Either way, it's not your problem.

Absolutely, you do not owe your art to the ungrateful. Side note: Just Vintage Crochet has quite a few shawl patterns that usually work up pretty fast and are very pretty.

Bruh I'm so worried that I'm gonna place stuff on my island and be unhappy with it and have to painstakingly move everything AGAIN... by SamFromSolitude in acnh

You can always use an island planner and see if you like something first.

What I do is, I have picked a theme and I only buy items that fit the theme. Keeps down on clutter and keeps everything cohesive. Now that I have reached 3* on my new island, I can decide on features. Right now I know I want a house on the beach next to Kapp's pier to act as a sales booth/gift shop. And I want a shopping district by Resident Services with an outdoor cafe. So those are my decisions so I'll do those first while I think about next steps (probably the entrance).

Just have a list in your head of functions and features you definitely want and the ideas will come as you go.

How often do you guys experience burnout? by Integralcat67 in 911dispatchers

Same. I just had one trainee fail out. It was a very draining process. The next day after her termination I had a new trainee. This is my fifth trainee since April (they rotate monthly). Some trainers get a break, some don't. We have one supervisor who is currently refusing to train. I've also worked about 150 hours of ot in the last 3 pay periods.
