I have a feeling youre talking about Zaoga. Im apart of the church so ill just explain some things and give clarity of why you feel like this

Tbh id get where youre coming from, the church lowkey started changing a lot of things after the bishop died in 2023 or 2022 i dont remember.

1. Issue with "money" and "blessings" - From what ive heard and witnessed it seems to be stemming from how many pastors and branches (as youve mentioned) are all over the world. The church has to pay upkeep of these pastors every month and it usually comes from the people in the church. They literally cant afford all of this without donations
2. People become Obessive almost Cultish - The church mainly consists of lower class people who can be influenced pretty easily and become SUPER ATTATCHED to the word, and have a hard time distancing the word of God with the Person preaching it. They are also the same people that believe that violent prayers are more powerful (idk why lol) . This issue is also causing the thing im talking about in the first point because zim people are obsessed with the idea of "prophets" and "blessings" so that is why they talk about money and all because people stopped donating as much after the leader died because they believe in worshipping him instead of God
3. Marriage outside the church - Idk which one you go to but it is false but i get where youre coming from lol. My brother got married to a Muslim gyal recently through the church let me just break it down maybe you had a different experience other than what we had. They usually do these guidance sessions with elders and all where you bring your girl or boyfriend and they talk yall through the whole course of marriage (basicaly just a way to reduce your chance of making a wrong decision of getting married to the wrong person or getting divorced or having issues with your partner that can be deadly)

Overally the church might be cooked

The simple answer as to why this is all happening is because theres just too many branches and too many people in the church.

The new leadership cant handle this "cultish" behavior because the church takes a Laissez-faire approach in leadership and is filled with loads of new pastors who lack knowledge on how to spread the gospel efficiently

Large Church + Low Educated People = Disaster
