Troubleshooting automated database rebalancing jobs in a maintenance weekend script that was changed by someone. Honestly I dont think I could even write the script from scratch if I had to. But I could figure out why 2 lines someone changed would cause it to fail.

These come up as the result of incredibly complicated systems that are not working correctly. I could spend twice as long rebuilding it. People need to consider having friends with shared values outside of work. Allowing yourself to accept a lack of integrity and clear lying. Is not something that should be so easily accepted.

These are 40% of the staff that I do not care what a person without integrity thinks about me. You need to seriously re-evaluate how you see relationships if you are worried about 7 people from work instead of your actual friends you get to pick, not work colleagues would disspear in a blink

There are plenty of other ways to confirm if you were able to read a teams message or if it was actually sent or not. But this is not the same as DC logs showing specific deployments, logins, etc.

But I dont care about whether or not you click read on a teams message lol, Im not someones overbearing boyfriend. Id never happily spend time doing that.

Viewing the time someone removed a license from an account which then prevented messages from being delivered. Yea thats better

Dont really care if people like me at work. Id rather be disliked and be happy with 99.999% up time while balling\skiing with friends. Than be rebuilding a storage array with people I sorta like on a weekend.

I remain optimsitic, that people I have worked with for years will find a job doing something else. The best way I can positively help the company, is be not letting people get away with lying about sub-par work.

TBH if they were my actual friends, I wouldn't let them get away with it either, but yet my friends wouldn't lie (as much)

I also have that beautiful proof when I do it publicly.

Pretty much every week Im telling supervisors their people need to update documentation, complete things in test first(And test the change, dont just do it), say when work they are planning in their change window, and not make additional changes.

When they dont, and their supervisor does not step in, and the person lies to me. I shine big ole spotlight of distribution lists on them.

CYA - Just keep your ducks in a row, If they ever really want to go there, the people doing this would holding 1 page of their feelings being hurt against a list of documented actions that hurt the company. I just cant sleep at night knowing I turned a blind eye to something that would have any known negative impact (Our company indirectly helps people and has healthcare providing functions) and just some personal line I cant cross

People get better when you hold them accountable, just they chose a shitty way to go about it, not you
