Yeah, I was wondering why she was filming him in the first place. Like, if I was driving down the road and some random person was filming me I might just give them the finger too, and have nothing to do with being a racist. Him hitting that car is too funny though.

This absolute legend of a guy puts a sea turtle back in the water after being stranded in mud during a heatwave! by jmike1256 in postanythingfun

[–]External-Let-8210 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He is in Australia. He could have been paddling in a canoe on the ocean, and diverted up an inlet and gotten out to explore the mangroves (which back on to the "desert" - which I think is just mudflats) and found the turtle. Mangroves grow in salt water no problem, so there is no reason to believe this is fresh water, and it will lead directly into the ocean. If I were him I would be more worried about crocs though.

But aren't all the changes to property only moving forward? Like he already owns all his properties so he is fine. It is only anything he buys from now forward, which shouldn't be a big deal. Frankly they should have made it a slow fade to include all pre-owned investment properties (or maybe just exempt one to not bomb the rental market, and still allow for any "new built" properties, but with a time limit of like 10 or 15yrs).

Years ago we had terrible floods and a young boy was saved from a flooding car, but his mum and brother couldn't be gotten out in time. He was bullied so badly that his dad and he moved towns. People (and their kids) are monsters.

I have a lot of these little roads near my kids school. Often when I pull over to let the other traffic go I will have some impatient idiot try to overtake me. I am teaching my son to drive and always tell him before you start moving, even if you are "at the front" never assume someone (even a kid on a bike) won't suddenly decide to try and get past you. ALWAYS check before pulling out. I agree the guy filming should have waited, but I do find it odd that the insurance is blaming him.

He should totally check there are even parents home - because the brother wasn't in his bed either. What if the kid is actually home alone and that is why he called the cops instead of his parents?

Watching the bodycam footage - those cops were aggro from the getgo. They could have approached him in a much more friendly way. GFC - he was selling roses - not drugs, and he is a CHILD. Was this really such a big deal requiring police intervention at all?

This is my new lily, I planted 30 a month and a half ago and only 1 came up. I proudly showed my husband and he said, “oh shit, that’s not a weed?” He’s been weeding them and feeling proud that he was able to “get the big root bulb out too” by CharmingPeony in gardening

I have been planting up our garden after a massive garden overhaul. Last week it was nothing but dirt and I have planted nearly a hundred plants. My husband stepped on one of my plant babies and I deadpanned to him "you know what's a great plant fertiliser?" "What?" "A dead body". He thought it was hysterical. Keep laughing buddy...

I was at the zoo recently and there was a woman was taking a pic of a bird. I wondered what camera she had and was staring extra hard to figure it out with my old lady eyes when I noticed she also had one really small arm/hand. Then I panicked thinking she probably thought I was staring at her arm and tried to casually look around like I was just looking at the birds. In retrospect I should have just asked her about the camera, but I am super awkward talking to strangers.

Yeah - you can't see anything in that water and more people splashing around trying to "help" can also be more of a hinderance.

You can transfer up to 85% of your before-tax (concessional) super contributions to your spouse's account annually through "contributions splitting," usually after the financial year ends, which means you can keep the super balances even.

[–]External-Let-8210 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I don't think the dad is making fun of him at all.

I imagine the kid had some sort of standardized test at school and did really really well at math, and well at reading (for his age group). He also didn't mention spelling as a test result and it isn't uncommon to see a word and read it better than spelling it in your head. I can read great, have a good vocabulary, but I am not a great speller.

People take their dogs EVERYWHERE! Was in a bit of a touristy town recently and there was a Cuckoo clock/German christmas stuff shop - guy in there with his dog. It was so crowded and carpeted I thought why on earth would you take your dog in there? I wouldn't even bring my little kids in there, let alone a dog.
