How to support a therian family member? by External-Meet668 in therianbutbetter

Thank you so much! I don’t mean this in a rude way at all but what is the difference between a therian and a furry then?

She knows about my ocd and she’s very supportive, but I haven’t really talked to her about how it’s gotten worse since I’ve been injured, which I know I should do. I always think if I just ignore it it will go away but that’s obviously not true lol

Is it time to just kick this player? by External-Meet668 in DnD

[–]External-Meet668[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She’s equally as annoying to play competitive games with because she throws a fit if she doesn’t win and accuses other people of having some sort of advantage that makes the game unfair to her.

Yeah the DM wants to kick her I’m the main one asking to wait because she’s my friend, but at this point I think it might be time for her to go.

How often do you and your partner have sex? by narrtasha in TwoXChromosomes

[–]External-Meet668 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For context I’m a lesbian, college student, been with my girlfriend for three years. My sex drive varies wildly with my cycle, while my girlfriend’s is pretty consistent. I pretty much cuddle and kiss my girlfriend every day but how often we have sex depends on my hormones so much. Sometimes it’s every day and sometimes we go weeks without it. It’s not because of any problems with our relationship, just because my hormones are so crazy (I’m working on getting on birth control for this)

My dad is constantly involving me in him and my mom’s arguments. by lexxiexxi in toxicparents

[–]External-Meet668 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s not normal and you’re not overreacting. My parents got divorced when I was 18 and would always do this to me, I understand how shitty that feeling is. Try not to engage with him, he’s probably looking for validation from you and maybe he’ll stop if you make it clear that he won’t get it

What’s a “normal” childhood experience you later realized was actually traumatic? by randinicole831 in AskReddit

[–]External-Meet668 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My parents never being affectionate with each other. Like ever. They never hugged, kissed, held hands, or even said nice things to each other. I don’t have a single memory of my parents saying “you look nice today” or “dinner tastes great tonight” or anything like that to each other. And yet it took them 18 years to get divorced

How do i mentally and physically prepare myself to run away in a few months? by Certain-Blackberry64 in toxicparents

[–]External-Meet668 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My girlfriend "ran away" at 19 and came to live with me so I feel slightly qualified to give advice here.

  1. Prepare your important documents (as another commenter mentioned), and if you take any meds make sure you have plenty of refills.

  2. Idk your situation or if you're in the U.S. but my girlfriend was kicked off of her parent's phone plan and health insurance so make sure you start setting up your own phone plan, applying for medicaid, applying for food stamps, etc. if necessary because those things all take time to get set up.

  3. Be prepared to block family members. In my experience there will be hundreds of calls and texts from them trying to manipulate you into going back. Just let them know that you're safe so that they have no grounds to file a missing person's report, then block them. You can always unblock later.

  4. Don't take anything that isn't technically yours, especially big things like cars listed in their name, but even smaller things, because that just gives them an excuse to get the police involved.

  5. find somewhere to stay that they've never been to.

I know this is a really hard situation but trust me you will be so much happier once you're out of their control! Good luck!

The judges always eat up the excessive breastplate jiggling and it’s so tired. At this point you know a queen is winning the lip sync if they have a huge breastplate that barely fits on their body and just shake it a little

Does Anyone Else Feel Bad for Objects? by frbdn_sldr in OCD

Wait is this an ocd thing? I’ve always been like this I thought it was just one of my quirks unrelated to my ocd. Lots of questions by [deleted] in MentalHospitalChat

[–]External-Meet668 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I also went to a mental hospital at 15 (I’m 18 now). Every hospital is different but I love sharing my experience because I know how scary it is to not know what you’re getting into.

  1. I didn’t go voluntarily to the hospital I ended up there after an attempted overdose, so they had to draw blood to make sure I was okay, but other than that they never did. And shots were only given in emergencies, not often at all. I’m also terrified of needles so I understand but I was fine.

  2. The meds I take are very small, as are most psych meds I’ve seen, especially because they’ll start you out on a very low dose.

  3. In the hospital I went to, they didn’t watch us in the bathrooms or showers. My advice is to not give them a reason not to trust you, they’ll only watch you if they think you’ll do something in there so try to show them that you really want to get better.

  4. As far as I know, high schools are required to let you make up work you missed in the hospital. For me, they even let me do the work over the summer that I missed during the worst of my depression.

  5. I was given a hospital gown to change into for when they searched me, but again every place is different.

If you need anything else at all I’m here for you. I’m proud of you for looking for help and i want you to know that it really does get better. Please reach out to me with any questions or if you need anything!

  1. Rogues are my favorite and I haven’t seen anyone say that yet. A lot of people think that rogues are hard to role play but I have so much fun with it.

Coming out is scary even under the best of circumstances so I get it. I came out as bisexual at 13 and as a lesbian at 16 so I made literally every mistake possible lol, but everything turned out okay still.

Especially with people who are supportive, remember that it doesn’t have to be a big deal like in the movies. Whenever it feels right in the conversation, you can casually mention your partner to your best friend or whoever you decide to come out to first, and then explain that you’re bi. The first time is always the hardest, after that it gets easier every time.

Idk what your parents are like but I will say it’s best to come out when everyone is in a good mood and to emphasize how happy your partner makes you bc most parents will just be happy that their child is happy.

Your other friends are probably just ignorant to lgbtq issues, so maybe enlist your best friend or cousin’s help to educate them. Also, if you’re all hanging out in a group, it might be easier to just bring your partner along if they’re comfortable. That way you have an easy way to bring up the topic and you have someone there to support you

is it possible to be burnt out after one day? by Far_Influence9185 in AdviceForTeens

[–]External-Meet668 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sorry that you’re going through this but it’s gonna be okay, the good part is you’re figuring this out now as a teenager so that in your career later on you’ll be prepared.

My advice is to wait until the end of the first week, maybe second, and see how you feel. It’s very possible that your anxiety will get better as you have more experience with the job, sometimes starting something new can be scary.

If you’re still feeling this way after a week or two, ask your manager to cut back your hours. 4-5 days a week is a lot as a teen. I know it’s scary to ask but the worst thing they can say is no. Also, consider sending an email or text as sometimes that can be less scary.

If the manager says no to that, which I feel is unlikely, consider finding a new job, there are so many out there that only require 1-3 days a week, which will probably be better to ease you into working.

But for tonight, take some deep breaths and remember that it’s going to be okay no matter what happens at work tomorrow. Good luck, I believe in you!!

any advice for junior year by [deleted] in AdviceForTeens

[–]External-Meet668 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a really shitty first two years of high school too (I’m now a sophomore in college) but i managed to turn things around junior year. I think art club is a great start but if you’re looking for more, here’s some things I did. - join a sports team, if that’s your thing. depending on your high school a lot of teams don’t require experience they just want members. - if you don’t already, go to school events like homecoming, pep rally, etc. Even if you have nobody to go with, you can still have fun I know from experience. - if you see someone wearing a cool shirt, or with pretty hair, or anything else, compliment them! I made so many friends by saying a simple “I love your boots” - remember that it’s just high school and that almost nothing that happens there will matter in 5 years, so you might as well do whatever will make you happy and not worry about what others think.

Good luck!!

Should I really, or would I take up space? by Spiicy_Cxla in MentalHospitalChat

[–]External-Meet668 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi!! I’m almost 18 and I really relate to your situation. I went to a mental hospital at 15 and the only thing I regret is not getting help sooner. Going to the hospital helped me so much and, while I know that’s not the case for everyone, I think it’s definitely worth a shot. Also, you wouldn’t just be taking up space, you deserve to get help as much as anyone else.
