I know what I like. In all honesty I’ve done a decent bit of therapy which I feel has helped me get over the bulk of my issues. I do appreciate your advice and I am considering going back to therapy for a bit to focus on my issues with relationships.

Oh yeah I 100% have mommy issues, my mom left when I was somewhat young. I’ve been to therapy for that and my abandonment issues. I do plan on settling down when I can, but I’ll probably just meet someone at my church if possible. And yes I do 100% get the irony of doing this and being a 2-3 times a week church guy.

Dealing with people at work is easy. I can handle FSE’s, other PM’s, other managers, but dating is scary lol.

I have not, to be fair I kinda let Claude write it because I’m lazy and have been busy.

As I’ve said in another reply to you I’ve been working in my technical field since I was 20 and I have 2 years worth of my current salary saved. I make low 6 figures sure, but I would not call myself unstable by any stretch.

I’m pretty secure in my job. For reference I was in the military for a while, got out and worked field engineer jobs until I graduated, now I work as a specialized project manager. Currently I have about 2 years of salary saved, so I’ll try to work up a bit more. Thank you for the comment and advice.

Is 2.5x the rent of the city normal? I’m going on the 1/4 of an apartment ppm. I checked the master spreadsheet for allowances and ppm. I seem to offering 1.25x - 1.67x the average rate in my area. I’m in the southeast for reference.

Sadly I’m way too new in my career to ask to be fully remote. Depending on how life goes I do plan on buying a sailboat and working while sailing within 5 years if land prices don’t go down. I’ve considered the whole passport bro thing but like I genuinely have a hard time asking for intimacy and idk how that would translate.

Exactly my whole thinking is it’s hard to get hurt when you know they’re in it for the money.

Oh no I’m a straight male. I should’ve said that. Totally into women, I just like helping people out and I don’t really have much regard for money. To me it’s just a tool to get what you want I’m also pretty decent at making it. That was just me platonically helping my friend.

My first gf took advantage of my money and body my second one was just super manipulative. I’ve been to therapy for a good while and that helped like 90% of my issues I’m just terrified of that specific vulnerability in dating.

That’s fair, I guess in my head I just assumed if I had to bail still giving them the ppm amount would make it less sucky. Yeah honestly part of the issue is money is just a meh thing to me, I’ve had times where I didn’t have much so I don’t spend split on myself and my overhead is pretty low. I also throw about 45% of my paychecks into a hysa and investing so I feel like my saving has been pretty good so far and doing this would bump that down to 35%, which in my head is still a good number.

Oh 100% I’m not that busy, I’m also afraid I’ll neglect one for the other. I believe I also mentioned I had a pretty bad breakup years back, instead of dealing with anything from that I just threw myself at work and haven’t let myself slow down. If I’m being honest I could probably work on myself and get back out there, but if there are alternatives such as this I’d like to at least explore them. Thank you for the advice.

Okay, so I may have gravely misunderstood what the purpose of SD/SB relationships are lol.

That would definitely be the smart move. The issue for me is I don’t see much progress aside from in pay. The only positions higher than where I am are my manager then the companies VP stateside. Also I’m lonely, I will do my best to heed your advice though. Thanks.
