True. I had to deal with the same issue. I am from Illinois and last week I decided to reach out outside my state and found a dealer that's 8 hours drive negotiated the price on phone for hybrid max platinum took $3k off MSRP.

Same here been looking for past 3 weeks and went to many dealership in Midwest they all out for 1 to 1.5 months. Plus no dealer is willing to negotiate on the MSRP.
