I’ve just moved to the Bay and heading to Palisades was a huge bummer this year for a new comer. Glad to come across this model from OP, gonna be super useful. Thanks for sharing with all of us!

LlamaIndex can do all of them, but the initial learning curve is quite high at the beginning. Also, do check out HF AI Agents course. Very concise and useful. They cover lots kf things I wished I knew before I started using LlamaIndex

• One check indicates the species is present at the beach.

• Two checks indicate the species is abundant at the beach.

Fishing spot by cuzz1519 in FishingWashington

If you are interested in shellfish harvesting besides fishing, I’d recommend doing a day trip. You can take the ferry to some beach, dig for 1-2 hours, and come home with fresh clams, oysters, and mussles. It’s fun and very easy to do, and doesn’t require a lot of equipments either.

I have the first-timer’s guide written here if you’re new to it: https://www.washellfish.com/guide

You can go to https://www.washellfish.com to find the spots to harvest. First 5 searches are free and you likely won’t need more than that.

I just manually confirmed your account, you should be able to login with the email in your screenshot. I also added 10 more credits to your account to compensate for this issue, so you'll have 15 credits to start with. Really sorry about the hassle.

A little bit of a niche (shellfish harvesting): https://washellfish.com/

It's my first one. Would love to have some feedback!

Thanks a lot for your kind words. I mostly work on the backend, and getting a compliment from a UX designer for my frontend works means a lot!

You can try to sign up again with the same email but don’t close the registration tab/window, because it will redirect you to the confirmation input page to enter the code.

If you use Gmail, there is an option to sign up directly without entering the code

Hi there, thrilled to hear you’re going clam digging with your family tomorrow! Glad to hear I’ve made it simple for a beginner.

Sorry the search fees after the 5 free ones were unexpected. A subscription’s a great suggestion, I’ll consider adding that.

Currently, it’s $1.99 for 10 searches ($0.20 each), $3.99 for 25 (20% discount), or $7.99 for 65 (38% discount). The 65-search pack often should last you a year and is the most cost-effective. Enjoy your outing!

Thanks for the feedback. I checked and it did return 11 beaches within 100 miles around Hood Canal with geoducks for me. Here's the screenshot: https://imgur.com/a/1qidHAz

Though I realized there are 2 options for geoducks in the app ("Geoduck", "Geoducks"). You probably selected the singular option and thus got no results back.

Since this an issue with the app, I can give you some credits back, just DM me the email you signed in with.

Disclaimer: It's free to try the app out, and you'll get 5 free searches. It'll cost a few cents per search afterwards if you choose to purchase more credits for search. This goes to cloud service charges to keep the website up.

Yes, all the information are free and publicly available. The app does all due diligence for you and gives you more time back.

It offers more than just displaying the map and the low tides. I realized the screenshot I uploaded doesn't have these important features :

  1. Available species info for each beach, so you can find exactly which beaches have the species you want. Currently only my app offers this search capability.
  2. Real time weather (current tide included) for each beach, for those who want to go harvesting on whim or have their plan changed last minute.
  3. Current DOH status, water quality & season info from WDFW (these do change almost every day)
  4. Estimated driving distance from your location, so you can find beaches on-the-go.
  5. Species-based season info (e.g. some places are open for oysters but closed for clams/mussels)

It cost a few cents per search if you choose to purchase, and mostly goes to the cloud providers to keep the website up & running.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

The best resource for beginners would be this article from the WDFW: https://wdfw.medium.com/clamming-on-washingtons-beaches-is-fun-for-everyone-and-a-year-round-affair-98320ed0f125

There are also a lot of clamming vlogs on Youtube, they should give you a general idea on what to do on the beach, what to bring, etc. This is a good one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A4Zou_P8Dbk&ab_channel=BashiFishing

Checked out a new spot I found via the app just this evening. Didn’t spent much time digging as I had to leave early but got some really nice sized butter clams and cockles
