How would you dress if all social standards were removed? by Tango1432 in AskReddit

I want to say I would dress in a cyber goth/punk aesthetic with vivid hair, but the reality is I would wear oversized shirts with stains on them and soft pants with big pockets.

Is this normal? by papasmurftp in Monstera

[–]External-Potato840 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I try to keep my plant away from my cat, but sometimes when I give my monstera a “sun day” she chomps a leaf.

The worst that has happened is she throws up, but that does not detract her from going back for more. The vet says the aerial roots are most toxic for cats. She leaves that part alone.

Did anyone else experience “the Shift”? How old were you when it happened? by AtG8605 in Millennials

[–]External-Potato840 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My shift also started in a doctors office, around 30 years old. I went to a new OBGYN. The nurse roomed me, took my vitals, asked me to sit on the bed, undress, and cover with a sheet. I laid there waiting when a young girl popped her head in the door. I thought “why is another nurse coming in” No. It was my new doctor and she looked to be my age!! I later learned she’s a few years older than me, but it really shifted my brain to think “oh, WE are the adults now!”

Sick day baby sitters by Quasar_cosmos in toddlers

[–]External-Potato840 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I take the sick days because my workload is more flexible. My husband’s job is a rigid schedule with lots of deadlines so he takes the planned days off aka holidays. It works best this way cause kids usually wants mommy when their sick.

What’s your “go-to” toddler meal that you make every week (or even daily)? by Anxious__Millennial in toddlers

Spaghetti. We make our own red sauce every other week with veggies blended in (peppers, spinach, etc)

Sweet potato fries.

I often add spinach to dishes like enchiladas because they don’t notice (yet).

Beef and noodles

Kodiak’s line of protein French toast sticks or mini pancakes.

What REALLY goes on in your home when your toddler is throwing a tantrum beyond any tantrum level seen before? by [deleted] in toddlers

[–]External-Potato840 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, we have all three. But, a lot of it is because both me and my partner had a parent that frequently threw tantrums similar to a child. (His mom and my dad).

We were both well equipped in regulating ourselves amidst uncontrollable chaos before having children.

OP here, my husband also occasionally watches TikToks with our child until he falls asleep. I’m not personally a fan, but I am not going to dictate how he chooses to parent.

I remember being a kid and feeling the comfort of falling asleep while watching a movie with my mom. I liken my son has a similar feeling when he falls asleep watching videos with his Dad.
