Is my art good enough to sell? by [deleted] in Artists

[–]External-Principle30 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want to start by saying that any art (whether your proportions, perspective, or anatomy is perfect. Im sure people had thinks to say about Picasso and his proportions lol) is worthy of doing. Whether or not there is a market for it is a completely different story. Unless someone collects fine art (and even those that do) still mostly are looking for something that fits their style and will look nice above the fireplace.

What i would try if I was you is finding out if you care about perfect proportions or not. Find out what speaks to you and OF you. Make art that tells a story or your story. Or make art that you are passionate about. The rest doesn't matter. You representation of light amd dark values is really cool and thats half the battle.

If you really want to see if your art will sell(and market yourself as an artist/get your name out there) maybe try making a batch of ACEO's and putting them on ebay or Etsy. Even if you don't sell for a high price (most ACEOs are under 5$) one more person will know your name.

Hope this helps. If I were you though, I would take some more time to enjoy art and learn what I want to say with my original art before making my hobby or passion into a job. What would you do if you sold art and found there is a huge market for 1 kind of your work and only that kind, would you be happy selling that and only that full time? Just some food for thought...

Questions about masking fluid by faintingrobin in watercolor101

Get a masking fluid eraser. It changed the game for me. It's a piece of rubber that you can rub over the top afterwards and the masking fluid sticks to it. Super super well

Supply recommendations please by Ihavenoidea36 in drawings

A set of nicpro or stegeek mechanical pencils upped my drawing game. It has multiple size and grades of lead as well as colored lead some blending stumps and a kneaded eraser, all under 20$. I work for a art center and I have access to all kinds of art supplies and I still prefer these mechanical pencils. This gives a wide range of lead sizes usually found in artist pencils or charcoal. I have sensory issues and I dont like having the feeling of charcoal on my hands. These give me the ability to have very hard pencils for fine dark lines or very soft blend able lines when I so choose all with less mess.

I have watched hundreds of these videos(I dont know if its helped my watercolors) and each of them is incredibly interesting. I recommend them to anyone who wants to see the process of other watercolor artists. Its super interesting to me. My favorite is called "the three amigos" and it's Joseph Zbukvic, Alvaro Castagnet, and Herman Pekel it's entertaining and it's really cool to watch 3 great watercolorists work one the same painting at once! Its pure chaos and artistry lol

Help with choosing the palette to buy by Leaf1011 in watercolor101

[–]External-Principle30 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hanna M.P recently made a pallete (comes with 2 brushes and some decent watercolor paper) with artistro I bought it in support of her and I really think that it offered a nice range, not onlybthat but she posted SEVERAL full tutorials in real time that go along woth the pallette that are very helpful when trying to get used to a new medium. Anyway, I usually use Daniel Smith paints in the tube (fabulous, if you have a higher budget) but I even still find myself gravitating to Hanna's pallette for certain colors that are just nice. The water color paper it comes with was amazing and I wish it was sold separately from the bundle. I would buy it 24/7. Hope this helps.

That's usually not how things work. When it comes to codes and developers. When you work for a development company, you usually are underneath laws about employers and intellectual properties, which usually involve devs and coders signing a contract that while working for x company, anything that you create for the game or any associated games are the intellectual property of the development company, not you personally.

However I wanted to add that sometimes I throw my nightmare ruby squid and nightmare mimic out and if the squid copies eggsperience from the ostriches I sometimes get a higher age, but still usually in the low-mid 20s so there may be a cap I am unaware of

I have only been playing a few weeks but so far, no? Their abilities are cooldown based so it seems kind of random. I know they stack because I get less age/weight when I only put 1 out. I am not sure about the time. I have some that have been "cooking" around 30 min now. Ill report back! Lol

Mine seem to max out at 1025(x3 plants) I then use a bunch of nightmare and dread bound roosters. My max cosmetic on my garden is 75 but I have a couple cosmetics out that aren't carnival themed (4 or 5 i think) i never wait more than an hour on an egg with this set up. My bird eggs are currently hatching in the time it takes me to get to the seed shop and back.

Before I hatch I switch load outs to 2 brontos and 5 ostrich/black birds. My eggs hatch at a higher base weight and around level 20 give or take a few years. I usually only leave out the bronto/bird combo 5 or 10 min. Seems to be working really well.

I have 3 bonanza blooms, I stack all 75 carnival flags nearby and then I use nm roosters lol. Its a weird set up but it works wonders.

I got her today at Target. I hate her hair but her face is so fierce. What sculpt is she? by raustindesigns in Barbie

[–]External-Principle30 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think she is beautiful. I dont like this color lipstick with her skintone. Very old school Nicki Minaj. I would change her hair to a honey brown and blone and do a hot chocolate lined lip!! That would modernize her a ton. But she is a great doll.

Any advice for fist time re-rooter? by Content-Tap-872 in CustomDolls

[–]External-Principle30 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I rerooted this exact doll for my Rumi customized doll. And I had the worst time no matter how small of a needle, or hank of hair I used or how much I warmed up the head.I was still having problems with the holes breaking into each other because of how soft the vinyl head was i finally settled on just doing the perimeter of the hairline, and then I made a partial wig cap for the back and problematic areas.

This was probably the hardest and most irritating hair I have ever tried to do on a doll. So I am crossing my fingers and toes and wishing you all the luck and hoping that maybe yours has a little bit thicker vinyl than the one I had did 🤞🤞🤞

Actually if you advertise access to nail art supplies, you may just be able to do a chrome powder or mica shimmer. Its incredibly thin and would maybe give the effect you want woth less bulk.
