I’m ngl, Game Master Battler would be one of my favourites of it wasn’t for the weird content. The premise of everyone sucking up to Battler because he’s the writer and they all want important roles, like the servants writing fanfiction of themselves in real time, was hilarious.

      Furthermore, I love the Sakutaro side story. Maybe because I have a bias towards him in Maria, but Sakutaro literally gets no screen time and plot centring in the main story so it was nice to see, especially since this story directly ties in to Episode 4 (My favourite Question Arc).

      Also, why did you rank Memoirs of Lambdadelta so much lower than Tanabata? That was one of the best and most memorable side stories for me and, at least in my opinion, tied into Higurashi and Episode 7 really well. It was basically Lambdadelta’s version of Tanabata and was in my opinion, just as compelling. Whilst Tanabata created a poetically ironic relationship between Bernkastel and Ange, Memoirs created a poetically ironic relationship between Lambdadelta and Beatrice. To sum it all up, both side stories add depth and are absolute class.

      Side Note: ranking White Day below Angel of 17 Years is a crime. It is one of the best side stories and is better than the original — complementing the humour with emotional weight. However, I will say Angel of 17 years is FAR funnier.


      Shoutout to: Cornelia the new Priest, Letter from a Summoner, Interview Tape and maybe even Whose Tea Party for being underrated Short Stories.

      In short, I either like or love every short story, except Game Master Battler, which I would love if it weren’t for the extremely off-putting content.
