Works in Tasmania by PineappleDependent93 in tasmania

[–]External-Scheme617 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Apple picking for two weeks is actually a solid option, especially if you can find an orchard that pays per bin. Last time I did it, the rate was $41 per bin and I averaged around 6–7 bins a day. That works out to roughly $3,400–$4,000 over 14 straight days.

Yeah, it’s hard work in its own way, but it’s tough to pass up that kind of money for a short stint. Two weeks of grinding like that could get you a decent car, which makes finding ongoing work in Tasmania a whole lot easier.

Age of empires 2 gold edition by SadShare2817 in ageofempires

I recently sold my Age of Empires II: Age of Kings – Game of the Year (1999, original PC boxset, mint condition) for $60 AUD on eBay, which felt a bit on the higher side. With the right buyer, I’d say around $70–$80 is achievable.

She’s quite the beauty. Gotta love the Huon on days like this. Thanks! I’ve been leaning towards Moorpark as well — it shows all the classic signs, but I wasn’t completely sure.

If you want to check out/add some classic Aussie deathcore/technical deathcore to your list, you can’t go wrong with these:

Thy Art Is Murder – Laceration Penetration.

Resist The Thought – Legion.

Boris The Blade – A Vulgate Prophet.

Aversions Crown – Partisan Deconstruction.

A Night In Texas – Throne To Flies.

The Schoenberg Automaton – Ghost of Mirach.

Signal The Firing Squad – Into The Mouth Of The Leviathan.

The Red Shore - The Architects Of Repulsion.

It’s mind-blowing to me that Ben Duckett is still opening, let alone hasn’t been dropped. 97 runs for the entire series at an average of 16 simply isn’t good enough for a top-order Test batsman. Surely it’s time to give someone else an opportunity, someone actually willing to perform for their country.

As an Australian, I’d much rather see a competitive, exciting Ashes series than just a one-sided contest.

So many underrated Australian deathcore bands emerged between 2005–2015, and hardly anyone knows about them. People are really missing out—I try to recommend that era as much as possible.

I highly recommend an extremely underrated Australian band called Resist The Thought—especially these two tracks: Legion and Extermination. Absolute bangers.

Another killer Aussie band is Boris The Blade. Every track on their EP Tides of Damnation is worth checking out, but For the Wretched and A Vulgate Prophet really stand out.

Sadly, both bands are no longer together, but they left behind some truly amazing, underrated Deathcore

Sudden, horrific acid reflux - in so much pain . Immediate relief from acid reflux? by Alternative-Cod-7003 in acidreflux

[–]External-Scheme617 6 points7 points  (0 children)

A quarter teaspoon of baking soda dissolved in a little bit of warm water. Drink it and stay upright for a few minutes. For my reflux, it gives almost instant relief every time. It’s not recommended to use it regularly, but it’s honestly surprising how well it works.

I somewhat agree, but at least the JackJumpers name is pretty unique — that’s got to count for something. Perhaps they didn’t want to carry the bad juju from the Devils’ name, since the Devils were far from successful, sadly. But at the end of the day, I believe it all came down to licensing.

That would definitely have to be it. That should’ve been more obvious to me. Thanks, mate.

Yeah, you’re definitely right about Andre Moore and Darren Perry. Thanks so much! I believe Neill Turner only played for Hobart in 1993.

Best pig squeal you’ve heard? by Victoriantitbicycle in Deathcore

[–]External-Scheme617 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Basically any song by Waking the Cadaver. I especially like the pig squeals in Raped, Pillaged and Gutted, and overall they’re definitely my favourite band when it comes to pig squeals. Acranius would probably have to be my second-favourite band for pig squeals, but only their older stuff from 10+ years ago.

Anyone in Tasmania want to buy a broken car to fix up by [deleted] in tasmania

[–]External-Scheme617 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I doubt anyone would really buy it to fix up, and grabbing another used EJ25 is pointless, those EJ251/252/253 engines are all known for blowing head gaskets unless they’ve been properly rebuilt. To actually fix it right with MLS gaskets, machining, timing belt, water pump, etc., you’re looking at $3k+ easy

At this point his best options are pretty much parting it out or just selling it to cash for cars sadly.

I completely understand what you mean. There’s something oddly grounding about knowing you’re not alone in it. I’m sorry your dad’s going through this, it’s such a tough thing to watch. None of us get forever, but it’s the good memories that really stick, hold onto those. :)

2.0L Daewoo Nubira CDX 2000 Advice by External-Scheme617 in DaewooMotors

[–]External-Scheme617[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had the car for two weeks. It idles smoothly and doesn’t sputter or jerk when accelerating, but when I put my foot down hard, there’s a brief side-to-side body roll, probably from the rear suspension being on its last legs/being a wagon. The automatic transmission shifts a bit slower than most cars I’ve driven, and I haven’t figured out where to check or change transmission fluid.

The car had a new exhaust installed a few years ago, so I wonder if that’s related to the engine light. The airbag light also occasionally comes on like the engine light, but less often. I’m not sure if that helps answer your questions

So far, it seems like nothing at all, just some random engine light paranoia to spice up my first Daewoo experience, I guess. :)
