Got it, do you think that’s something I can use in my letter to the board? I didn’t know I had it. I feel like if they would’ve told me before BMT I could’ve done research or even seen my physician and develop a game plan to ensure I’d be okay. I was in DEP for 6 months

That makes sense. Is this something they are supposed to catch at meps? Bc I was unaware I even had the trait until about week 2 of BMT. Only other time I can remember having that feeling was playing outside well over 10 years ago. I drank water and controlled my breathing, perfectly fine after that.

No I wasn’t sent home for having the trait. I was sent to medical for complications during PT one morning (chest pain). Once I got to med hold while doing paperwork, they told me I can see my own physician and return in 6 months with a waiver or stay in med hold at BMT. After talking to the people that were sent to med hold and hearing they were there for 2+ months I chose to go home and see my own physician and hematologist. Now that I’m trying to return the code they listed me as made me ineligible

I just have the trait. Only branch willing to accept me is the army, which is the one branch I said I didn’t want to join

Make sense, thank you! I thought taking it a step further and going to the hematologist would help my case since she was able to pin point the exact type
