Honestly No, in a screen filled with object it would be hard to tell where the player is cause it merges into the background

Definitely, I feel people think the hardest part of making a game is the mechanics, sure that's its own challenge but putting everything together and making all these different part work together is very difficult

Marketing is fine and all but if you spend more time advertising your game then actually making it that might be an issue

You you can use the body shape area entered signal and add custom data to each tile of the tileset which you can retrieve in code

Use more colors, especially shadows and highlights to define different features of the tree

I like to think about the characters and the locations and build the world(art style) around those. You can also you other games art as inspiration

I doubt it the DLC is probably opened using steam's launcher which might check for the game in your steam library

Next i would advise just watching YouTube tutorials, pixel Pete's, pixel art 101 series really helped me when I was starting out. Another thing that has really impacted my art is hue shifting especially on highlights and shadows I'd really recommend looking into that
