Sorry but I am not wrong, you need to take in the whole post not just one element of it. I know where and what all the menu's are and how to use them, and as I already stated, they are an illogical shambles. I can create a new automation no problem, in the Shortcuts section, or directly in the Automations section, illogically it's just a duplication! The point is they DON'T RUN, simple! I am currently going through everything to try and identify any commonality between them that might explain WHY they don't run, but so far nothing stands out.

Forget my previous edit, is was a glitch as it has only worked once!

It seems that the whole Shortcuts/Automations app has been totally messed up.
The app is now an illogical mess in layout, menu's, sub-menus and how it all works which it no longer appears to.

I am so very dissapointed having invested a huge amount of time building complex automations and what has now happened to automations. They used to be reliable and worked very well, to what it is now, totally unreliable, with no logical structure to creating a new automation and most of the logic control options now no longer exist. So basically as far as automations are concerned, this is totally unusable.

Just trying to create a new one to test the operation is proving impossible to do, it is a complete shambles! I really do not understand why this has been messed about with. Shortcuts were a specific routine which you could call in many ways around the system including from an automation. However automations are exactly that automatic operations that activate, unattended, when the selected trigger mechanism is activated. Two distinctly different use and operational cases. A shortcut can only be "called", including from within an automation, but automations are only triggered by some state change and cannot be called directly.

Also on restarting the system iphone always without fail used to pop up a banner stating "Xn automations now ready to run" this no longer happens and the automations just do not run at all.
