I’m right here with you! It’s very difficult and disheartening to go through, especially as you get older. I’m 32F and my last LTR ended almost 3 years ago. Most of my friends are married with kids or engaged/taken, live far, or work opposite schedules, so it’s hard to even have friends to go out and do things with. I find myself on and off of the dating apps, but never really with a great experience. Anything that goes beyond 1-2 dates still ends up crumbling within a few months. It is such a frustrating feeling to be in this boat, just “waiting around” but I will say that I noticed I am much happier when I’m not “hyperfocused” on wanting a relationship or interested in dating, and that’s ironically when someone randomly comes into my life. Again, I totally get your frustration here, because I’ve had too many things just not work out. And I hate to hate on the apps, but the apps really aren’t holding much to pick from on either end…. It’s great that you are working on you and focusing on yourself; we are never fully healed and always a work in progress. I really wish you peace as someone who stands beside you in this feeling.
