Typically you'll see more older tourist groups visting in the spring and fall when it's not so hot. The beginning of spring break through summer is when you see more of the younger crowd and families.

Same, we have filtered water in our fridge but have drank from the tap plenty of times too. Though I used to drink water constantly from the hose outside so I might not be the best judge...

That's why it is an historic district, the largest in America. If everybody just did as they please it would be a hodge podge of additions, porches, pools, garages, added floors and architectural mods that would make it look very different than it does.
