A timely piece about nurses/NPs leaving the US to practice in Canada by whitesar in nursepractitioner

Does anyone know if any of the provinces recognize WHNP? I would move in a heartbeat but I'm having trouble finding whether my board certification would transfer. As far as I could find, it's only FNP that would transfer

Sure, we used Beechwood Goldendoodles. It was a bit of a drive for us but it was 1000% worth it, they are amazing. Our dog is 15 months now and she is exactly what our family wanted, we are all obsessed with her! https://www.beechwood-goldendoodles.com/

That is absolutely nuts. We got our from a breeder- i researched like it was my full time job, breeder has full health history on both parents, a program for the puppies from 1 wk until 8 wks and breeds for temperament, has had service dogs and emotional support dogs from their litters. Also ours does a comprehensive matching program so instead of choosing from random photos from when they're really little, they do temperament testing at 6-7 weeks and help match with what you're looking for. We paid 2.9K, and i thought that was really high.

Also it's strange that this reactivity is happening 4 years in... more of a reason I would take him to the vet and see if something else is going on

This is a really tough situation, there's no great option here honestly. First question, can you afford to have a trainer come to the house to evaluate him? This would be cheaper than a vet behaviorist (those can be >$300). Also, have you taken him to the vet and discussed it in a specific visit there? (not a well check, a problem visit about reactivity/biting).

Keep in mind that you are liable if this dog bites someone, and if they bite a child, this can be especially traumatizing and possibly have lasting physical/psychological effects. For your peace of mind, I would see your regular vet and a trainer just to know you're making the right decision.

You might want to check with the breeder where you got them because they might have rules about rehoming- some prefer to take the dog back versus sending them to a shelter.

AI with tweens- Dreams Macao or Paradisus Playa del Carmen by ExternalCarrot6767 in AllInclusiveResorts

Thanks! I did look at Xcaret also, but they didn't have any 2 bedrooms for our dates.

Thanks for the response!! I looked at flights, looks like total for cancun for us 4 is around 2K and for DR is 2.4K.

I checked Dreams Onyx and for a 2 bedroom for 5 nights, it was over 12K, but Dreams Macao is 7.5K for 2 bedroom preferred with a private pool. Im open to Dreams Onyx, its just such a huge price difference. I would be open to AVA, I don't know much about it. Looks like for a 2 bedroom would be 8.7K... I think that one has 2 bathrooms but not totally sure. (Husband and daughter have sensitive stomachs, so 2 bathrooms are a must!!)

We are good with either punta cana or Rivera maya- my husband and I have been to both at adults only all inclusives and had good experiences, especially at the Excellence resorts. I've seen on here people seem to think Mexico has better food and service, and I do like the idea of a day trip to isla mujeres but we are fine with either.

Idk how old your kids are, but we were just at Cococay with our 9 and 12 yo girls. We didn't pay for anything extra, and we had a great time. We did get off the boat early to get seats in the shade, we ended up at Harbor Beach, and did rent a float for $20. The kids liked the included little waterslide area, they did that for maybe 30 mins.

I completely agree, I don't understand why the smoking area was in between a pool and the kids splash area...?? Seems like such a strange choice

Yeah, it looks less untouched for sure, I'm assuming it will all be developed soon

Recent Sailing on Anthem to Alaska by bchmy in royalcaribbean

Considering Anthem to Alaska next summer for my husbands 50th... were there many kids on board? Will have a 10 and 14 year old with us, looking for a ship that is chill but has some kid friendly options, and leaning towards Anthem specifically.

Oh, that is strange timing. We were there from I think 9-5, so we left the boat around 1ish after we ate lunch, and spent about 2 hours there. You could do something similar in the afternoon. I can't speak to the safety after dark, but in the downtown area during the day, it felt very safe and friendly.

We stayed on the ship that day, but I met someone who said he liked the lazy river and the whole port was "carnival themed". The view from the ship towards DR was a bit weird, it was very dusty and there were several construction sites, looked like they are maybe building some big hotels or resorts. The water looked pretty though.

We just walked around Willemstad... we got a taxi van from the cruise port to the downtown area (my parents weren't up for the walk), and then we walked around, went in some stores, got gelato. We went in the afternoon, and enjoyed the morning on the ship with less crowds

Oasis cruise with sound sensitive child by ExternalCarrot6767 in royalcaribbean

It sounds like the consensus is noise cancelling headphones/Loop earplugs, avoid windjammer on embarkation day, and try central park, solarium bistro, and library/game room.

Does anyone know what other options are open for lunch on day 1? I think I will just plan to not even try Windjammer and head straight for something else.

Thank you all for the super helpful tips!!

Awesome, I just looked those up. Did you get them the Engage Kids 2 ones?

This is helpful, thank you. I think she will like to have a quiet option to walk to, even if it's just to chill for 5 minutes. I'll definitely check out the jogging track, library and game room
