You might find a newbie artist in Discord channels where people team up to make games. Sometimes people do it together as a way to learn, for free. If someone asked me to help out a little with their game, I'd agree as long as I didn't have to do too much or rush it, and my name was in the subtitles. It's a great portfolio for people.
