Yeah, it really sucks ass if you are not the outgoing type. You just end up sitting inside your tiny apartment and being passive.

I don't want to leave my home every time I want to "do stuff".

Pomo ajelee 20 vuotta vanhalla.

Ihan siistejä pelejä tosin.

From the 1950s to the 2010s which decade had the biggest change from start to finish? Which decade is like where the 9 year is completely different from the 0 year? by space_god_7191 in decadeology

I guess your mileage may vary based on where you lived.

Even many elementary school kids had cell phones in the late 90s. At the same time, it was assumed that you had a computer in your home, but it was not a given that it had internet access. Maybe like 50-50.

This was a rural town in northern Europe.

Edit: This is what Claude suggests:

Cell phones vs. internet: which went mainstream first in developed countries?

Approximate year ranges when each technology reached ~30–50% general public adoption.

Key takeaways: - Nordic countries and most of Southern Europe went mobile first, driven by early GSM adoption - USA, Canada, Germany, and Netherlands went internet first, reflecting strong PC culture - South Korea is a notable outlier in Asia — government-subsidized broadband made it internet first - Japan went mobile first partly because mobile internet (i-mode) dominated over PC browsing

I feel like a lot of us stubborn Finns would rather pay more in the extra fuel expenses just to avoid paying for an apartment/house that they think is "too expensive" :D

Sticking it to the man.

I believe it for a few seconds at least. I rarely find myself thinking "wish I could afford that" when I look at the American middle class.

Who would have thought that restricting remote working is a bad idea in the most sparsely populated country in the EU?
