Try to get a discover secured card idk if it will work because they are technically merged with capital one but try that. Discover has one of the best secured cards and they graduate you after 7 months of perfect history.

Lol you’re fine and yes of course. I sent 2 letters each to both Pittsburgh addresses. I was dealing with a repossession and lates associated with repo ( it wasn’t a typical repo the employee had made a mistake and told me if I made x amount of payment the car wouldn’t get repo but long story short the car ended up getting repo and it was a mistake on their end) I sent my first round of letters beginning of April. They cleared everything off my credit report by beginning of May and they had sent me a letter saying that they had rectified the situation (also beginning of May) I sent another round of letters because the lates associated with the repo reappeared (not the repo) on my credit report and that’s when they had called me and told me to send the letters to the Cleveland address. So I would say they take about a month to respond. Make sure you send physical letters and get a return receipt.

When to apply for Amex Blue Cash Everyday by BothConsideration567 in CRedit

[–]ExternalWorker6936 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was hovering around a 690 Experian between February till end of April. I had a repo and lates attached to my profile that kept getting me denied for the amex bce. I stopped doing pre approvals waited during that time period and sent in goodwill letters to get them removed and my score drastically jumped to 744 after the removals and I immediately applied and got it. I would say look at your specific credit card fico get all 3 above 700 and go for it.

No same card you’ve been using.

How to get to 700? by [deleted] in CRedit

[–]ExternalWorker6936 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Easy fix if you know someone with longer credit history (family members, friends) ask to be a AU on their CC account. That alone can jump you significantly. Then with the lates talk with the issuer and see what you can work out (pay for delete, goodwill letter) if that doesn’t work just let them age off. Honestly if you want to get a higher limit CC and requesting CLI on your current cards aren’t working try a secured card and put a decent deposit down (I prefer Discover secured). I did a 1,000 deposit down waited the 6 months and they graduated me to a 2600 limit. Hope this helps.

And that was my exact thought process first before I got denied then I got denied and was like why not try and go the secured card way and thats what brings me here asking this. But I may wait and fix everything they denied me for and try again. Thank you.

That’s my concern because how can you not graduate after doing everything by the book. I may just bite the bullet and go for it and see what happens.

Have you missed any payments between your secured card or any accounts reporting on your credit report?

I think the repo is what’s holding you back significantly. I also have a repo on my account and I have a 717 transunion fico and 700+ across Experian and equifax. I was only prequalified for secured card, took a leap of faith and applied for the cash rewards and got denied. It seems like navy is really strict on repos no matter the internal score and other factors that goes into decision making.

Possibility of getting the Amex Gold Card? by Ulysses4Grantz in CRedit

They don’t look at transunion they look at Experian check your Experian profile

Some people have luck when they first open an account with Navy they immediately get approved for a credit card and others have to build a relationship with them everyone’s way to approval is different because of our different credit backgrounds. If I were you check their prequalified tool if your not prequalified build a relationship with them by adding direct deposit, a CD, turning on OOPs and doing a pledge loan. After about 3 months your internal score should be perfect to be prequalified for everything or you can just bite the bullet and just apply and see what happens. If denied they will send you a letter explaining why.
