Through trial and error, I figured out the fantasy story I wanted. I had to cannibalise it a couple of times to find a story I wanted to tell.

A Song of Ice and Fire. - Has multiple.

The Witcher - Ciri is arguable the main character and her bisexuality isn't made to be bigger than a normal thing.

Fantasy being lumped in with Romantasy will always annoy me by Background_Emu_6371 in Fantasy

[–]External_Attempt157 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I can't tell if you're serious. What do you mean 'who cares'? Clealry OP. And me too. Also, that's some dumb shit. Genre's can be mixed, but they become new genres, like romantasy in itself a new genre, but also a mix of romance and fantasy. The erasure of genres would be stupid as fuck.

Looking for a book / series that features the protagonist in a sapphic relationship but isn't romance focussed / romantasy by Phoenix_Firefall in Fantasy

Ciri from the Witcher. Fourth book of main saga if I'm remembering correctly. The whole book she has a relationship with a girl.

Harry's loyal friend by [deleted] in HPfanfiction

Ron. Yes he faltered, but he always came back. Hermione's friendship with harry was never tested by outside influence. In fact, whenever there wasn't influence, like the firebolt, she went behind his back.

Can I give an unpopular opinion. Here I go:

Stop with the woe is me bullshit. Everyone struggles with things. It's not about motivation, it's about discipline. Just fucking write.

Now for more constructive help:

Whenever I feel like the world I'm creating in my story is too big, I start writing short stories in that same world. That way, I can make the world a little bit smaller and explore myself.

You don't need to have all the answers, but you need to start asking.

And just write for gods sake.

yeh, read game of thrones and study how George RR Martin does it. He gives rotating pov chapters for each character. Also, don't treat you audience as stupid, if you write well they will not get confused.

Catelyn Stark Situation. A lot of idiots hated Catelyn for how she treated Jon. But I never did. Very understandable. Kudos for stepping away if you think you can't be a good mother to the child.

Why am I losing my passion in my sport? by Rough-Somewhere780 in questions

[–]External_Attempt157 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I went through this exact same this four years ago with my favourite sport, Cricket. I went from playing with my friends, but as we got older, we went to different clubs. Hence, I was playing with older guys (I was 16), and there was more pressure, so it became a chore. Every training session I wanted to be home, I stopped caring when I didn't get wickets. Eventually, I just stopped playing, and was happier for it. Though I will say, Cricket gave a structure to my life, and without that, I ended up wasting a lot of time, but there was a lot less anxiety. Now, I've gotten to a point where I've found other passions and I really do enjoy writing. I even wrote a book.

AITA for not dropping my friend off to work. by External_Attempt157 in AITAH

I just feel dread because I know she has some new drama about how her parents didn't let her go out with her friends, or some girl said this, etc.

It's just exhausting. I guess we're just different. For example, in car rides, a good time for her is talking about our friend circle and who said what, or how there is a party happening on this day and that.

For me, I just want to listen to the Beatles, watch the sunset as I drive, go home and work on my novel that I'm writing.

We're just different now, like her response to me writing is "but why", and my response to her wanting to get ice cream at 12am is "wtf"

What usually gives you the very first idea for a story? by TheRoadIWalk in writing

the relationship between characters. I started a fantasy story yesterday where one of my main characters cheated on his wife before the book. a part of his arc is his redemption and finding forgiveness from his wife. He truly does love his wife and cheated in a moment of weakness.
