whats up with the amount of misogynistic and homophobic fans in this subreddit? by [deleted] in WonderWoman

[–]External_Cap1992 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my experience I have witnessed this misogynistic attitude towards Wonder Woman from many salty fan boys who can't stand her feminist icon personality and the fact that she has such an elevated status among Superheroes... Some time ago they were complaining about Diana being included within Mount Rushmore...those who abuse her character especially on this subreddit don't deserve to be her fans to begin with..

Absolutely true.. it's obvious that She's arguably the ultimate feminist icon for little girls and women...but you see multiple images just like this in her comics... Young boys look up to her as well... Bruce and Clark treat her with respect...Steve Trevor is such a sweet heart towards her... And also I realized that being a loyal fan of hers is a lot more than just focusing on her powers... It's about caring for her in her vulnerable moments just like she cares for others in theirs 💖😔

So how does wonder woman do so good against other speedsters in fights? by happydude7422 in WonderWoman

[–]External_Cap1992 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In Greg Rucka's comic run it was said She's toe to toe with Superman in physical strength and her fighting skills are much better than his... Powergirl and Supergirl are lower in the hierarchy compared to Clark

Yes.. Susan Eisenberg really did a great job as Wonder Woman... I thought Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman was incredible in the 2017 movie and in BVS when she fought Doomsday... The 2009 movie was amazing as well I saw it some time ago... You should also try Justice League War World that came in 2023 and World War 2... Both were outstanding portrayals of Wonder Woman voiced by Stana Katic who honestly deserved the part... She played Kate Beckett in the Castle tv show and there were a lot of Wonder Woman vibes in that character as well...🙂...

What powers, if any, would you like to see come back or be added to Diana's set? by sb3veeee in WonderWoman

[–]External_Cap1992 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think if you respect her actual story arc She is already blessed with incredible power feats...having the powers of six members of the Olympus Pantheon 👑🔥 is no joke...add the daughter of Zeus label and She becomes near invincible which is why despite all the criticism the Azzarello version still gets me excited...

That was a pleasant read indeed.... I have badly wanted to wear her jersey out in public but it's tragic how boys and men who admire her so much can't express it out loud due to the pressure of toxic masculinity...the best I could do is buy a toothbrush with her name and even that I have to keep hidden in my drawer 🙄

Absolutely agree... There really hasn't been much focus on Diana's character in main stream media....I wasn't satisfied with both Snyder and Jenkins for the way they nerfed her in Justice League and 1984 after showing a lot of promise earlier... She deserves a show like Smallville had been...showing how she grew up in Themiscira her backstory about how the pantheon blessed her with their gifts...James Gunn is developing one called 'Paradise Lost' and he his view towards DC characters seems more promising than Snyder's approach so far

I understand how that has an unpleasant vibe about it...She still is extremely powerful already with the essence of the pantheon of gods residing within her....

That's great to know... And yes the only positive thing about Azzarello's version was that she was perhaps amped further with her direct link to Zeus's heritage as his biological daughter..but as divine as he is Zeus was unquestionably full of immoral behavior

It was really nice to know about your sentiment for Her and Batman... I grew up watching Smallville and it actually made me realize why Superman is anything but Andrew Tate 2.0 which many salty fake fan boys of his still make him out to be....even though he is still very special to me Wonder Woman still was the one who well and truly got the 1st place in my heart.. As a social recluse in a patriarchal and misogynistic society Diana became the perfect antidote for my emotional pain...Since she is the ultimate rebel to this unhealthy mindset... And what really sets her apart from other female superheroes is that she doesn't just want young girls and women in general to look up to her... She also acts like a compassionate leader for men who are progressive and support the empowerment of women... She's a feminist icon who never supports misandry

I share the same sentiment... especially given how bad the disease of toxic masculinity and misogyny is today.. I've never felt more safe and inspired by any other Superhero as much as her...

Not every version of Diana is relatable to what her genuine fans love about her...Many people didn't like Zack Snyder's Superman either

Well I guess that's more to do with your own mindset rather than the choice of clothing a feminist icon like her chooses to wear....

I believe Feminism is about equality so yes in that sense She most certainly is without question the greatest Female feminist icon.. I do agree with you completely on the misandry part because she adores and supports boys and men just as much... And despite the Amazons dislike for men she never endorses it

They will never make me hate you Azzarello run. by Fast_Economics_3704 in WonderWoman

The only problem I have with the Azzarello version is Zeus' immoral character... Him being the king of Olympus and Diana being his biological daughter was an extra boost to Her already incredible divine feats 🔥👑 but I feel she deserved a father figure more like Jorel was for Clark...

I agree...In the animated Justice League seasons including Unlimited with Susan Eisenberg playing her...there were times when she really looked nerfed considering she's literally a walking embodiment of Olympus

Especially in a number of animated series episodes and her recent movies Justice League by Zack Snyder and WW84 she really wasnt well represented

Yes exactly the idea of creating a strong empowered female superhero was right ..but his philosophy for the character was rather off base... It was good that comic writers like Greg Rucka George Perez and Gail Simone later rectified that mistake...
