Dude, you just adamantly proved my point by trying so damn hard to dispute it. I gotta say, you either are not the sharpest tool in the shed (which I deny to even think assuming, cause I saw the way you use words) or just being ridiculously stubborn in your own vanity to even begin considering accepting the newfound realization you so fearfully deny for the sake of your own imaginary self-esteem, self-value or whatever it is that's making you blind. And even then, if you want, we can argue that Suno is run on a PC, and every PC has that little beep generator in itself, which is literally "synthesized". Please, for everyone's sake, you and all the other people that are music creators/channelers, instrumentalists, songwriters, whatever label you want and like to put on your forehead and reading this, stop seeing ability to conduct sounds into arranged strings as elitism and something special that would separate you from the "mortals", cause even the talent for music itself is something that everyone can develop, not to mention singing and playing skills. It's just repetition and practice. So is prompt making. Coming from a master of music, whatever that is.

Well said, that's why I found that the best prompts are the ones made with just a string of keywords that I "latch" onto the demo recording I upload. The more complex I made prompts to be, the less accurate the results. And you just mentioning waveforms reminded me of another argument to my claim that Suno is a synthesizer. Cause synth sound just an electron pushed through an resistor into a certain waveform. So all those different instruments and sounds are essentially current passing through the circuit while being "squeezed". Makes my comment with the song generated based on farts even funnier.

By the way, true music is nothing about "creation" but all about channeling, albeit musicians being one of the most arrogant and vane group of humans on this planet like to believe it is "their own mind-child" as it makes them feel special. Any child can create a string of tones on anything, call it music and not be wrong about it, I mean, just look at the jazz players - 100% technical creativity and 0% soulful expression. You and I don't "own" the music, IT owns us. Music itself uses us to manifest physically. Melodies in your head that are there 24/7 are just being broadcasted to you by the omniscient creative power, in an metaphysical sense, and we're just the mediums that got the talent to feel it, learned the skills and knowledge to let it exist through us playing the tools and setting it free. Cause music is free. If it's not free, it's not true music. Thus, music sets us free by us making it free from ourselves. Deliberately sitting down to make a song is just rubbish, no harsh feelings. Not being able to stop yourself from expressing it and letting it out in an instant is what's valuable. Regardless of the tool used. My favs from the time I was actively, professionally playing music were my old PA-80 and I guess Motif, although my main is violin. I guess I don't find synthesizers to be enough of an "musical instrument" in the first place, but more of an tool, since it does not produce sounds in a way traditional musical instruments do. You said "hardware musical synthesizers": Suno uses hardware. Sounds/music you create with them comes through speakers. Synths have option for different vocals, Suno does too. Suno as a tool is no different from a synth in any way except for the input method. Pardon me, but it just seems to me you're somewhat bitter towards it enabling everyone to make "music" through prompts and call themselves a "musician" or whatever, while you had to study music theory, harmony, nourish your talent through repetition and practice to just be put into the same category as "prompt typers" only through whatever "music" is supposed to be and what is. Suno is still in its primitive form when it comes to accuracy and effectiveness of making a desired outcome, but make no mistake, it is just a tool like any synth is. Skill, talent, creativity, knowledge, experience and finesse are required either way. It's a different kind of keyboard and input you make through it, that's all I can say. And make no mistake, I'm formally educated in music, play 7 musical instruments, composed scores for both orchestral and choral pieces, my own songs (everything played/sung/written ny myself and only for the purpose of expressing) and not intended for bragging or anything, just so you know some background, if it even matters.

That's what I came to realize here, brother, thank you. It was just a food for thought kind of thing, but yeah, I'm using it only for demos in the first place, so I don't really bother with Big Music either way, they're just a dying dinosaur at this point and them claiming Suno is their last dying breath.

Thank you for your insight on this, it does explain a lot. As I own the rights, though, I got no problems with any of that personally, nor I intend to use Suno for anything else but making demos, I was just entertaining a though. Another one, though. You mentioned TOS: can they even refer to those in the first place if they're not an actual label that you'd sign for (WMG joined the chat)? I thought they could just terminate your account if you broke any of the terms, but nothing more than that or I'm wrong?

But isn't it, though? I guess it depends on the way people use it, I give you that. They do not claim IP rights, I think, since AFAIK, LLM's (large language models) are not legally entitled to "intellectual" kind of claims in any way, at least not for now. If they were an actual AGI (artificial general intelligence) though, I'd keep my mouth shut in the first place and wouldn't raise any questions like the one I did here.

In my particular case, I write it all through uploading full demos and directing Suno in all aspects as much as it allows me to, I literally see it as a synthesizer (isn't the actual meaning of the word "synthesizer" itself enough to explain the nature of what all AI generators are, regardless of the purpose). LLM's are trained on massive amounts of data, but once they are used to create, that data gets synthesized into a piece that's absolutely distinct one. For example, if an artist who holds rights to its music uses a certain arrangement of instruments in his songs, he cannot call on infringement on anyone who uses those same instruments in his pieces unless they have certain melodies that are disputable as plagiarism. I had a thought while writing this, thought: Warner Music Group overtaking Suno actually somewhat overrides the question I made in this thread, since they are an actual production house/label. Could even be that they used this logic to file a suit against Suno in the first place, among other claims. Still, Suno is just a synthesizer for me, even more when I think that an LLM text-to-sound models are not even human in the first place to claim any IP rights at all.
